I would bet on some Arson, mostly nature.
But fires ripping the area has been going on far before the humans moved in en masse, and those winds happen a few times per year
LA is fucking huge, like a small state.
I understood that many of these massive mansion for the rich can't even get fire insurance due to the size, price and the location and if you do get insurance it costs more than the house.
So I guess many of these places will not be covered and they will just pay outright to have them re-built and those that have insurance will drive up the premiums for others.
I want to point out that Canada is there helping and willing to send more help to our American friends.If L.A wasn't half assing the fire fighting efforts we would just invest in about 100 of these planes and have like raytheon make them they are in el segundo along with several plane builders in L.A county

They're saying gangs are intentionally starting fires, to force people to leave their homes, and when they do the gangs are going in and looting them.
But if you have a loan, and your house burns to the ground, the payments are still, due right?
Lots of these are man made, who knows, most of them might be. Once criminals realize how easy it is to pull this stuff off they will do more of it. Can't exactly intentionally cause a flood or set off a hurricane. But fires, easy.
I've seen a couple trucks on their side on I84 in Idaho, but damn, that's a lot. How fast are those wind gusts?
