A couple of my hunting/fishing people from Florida that I follow have been talking about the cold weather, but I had no idea it was that bad.
This is what it looked like this morning when I was walking back up from taking the trash out. Level spot measured it at 4”, but it was deeper in a few spots.
I don’t think it reached far enough south for that, mostly panhandle-Big Bend area. It is cold down there but it wasn’t a snap freeze. There was plenty of warning it was coming so they should’ve been prepared.
Did the snowman thing with the kids when this happened back in December ‘89. They’re doing it with their kids now.
Build one by yourself and put the carrot and stones down below. Let your yard camera capture the neighbors' reactions for a good laugh.

It’s rare and with the snow cunts and old people down here, it must be fucksville on the roads there as they can’t even drive under perfect conditions. I can only imagine.

Five days later. I’ll be 66 years old tomorrow, longest I’ve seen snow on the ground here before this was 2 days.

Actual temp was around 21 with single digit windchill. Tonight will be first night above freezing in a week. It actually got colder last winter and the winter before, with several successive nights in midteens, but without the precipitation.
I'm not gonna lie, in Canada we'd still be walking around in shorts.
The thing is though, if you don't get that kind of weather, it's a huge shock, so good on them for handling it so well.

Yeah, we’re just not equipped to handle it here. It paralyzes cities like ATL where it happens much more frequently, and we’re 250 miles south of there.
