- Gabe Rygaard: The former star of Ax Men died in a car crash in 2012 at the age of 45. Rygaard was portrayed as a gruff boss on the show, but was actually motivated and wanted the best for his people.
- Jimmy Smith: Smith, a logger from S&S Aqua Logging, died on November 1, 2012.
- Mike Pihl, another logger on the show, was arrested in Oregon after rolling his Jeep with his children in the car. Police believed alcohol was a factor
I remember when Gabe died. Sad all around, I don't think his dad ever recovered after that.
That was a shocker for sure. Old man looked one foot in the grave but he's just too badass to die. Extremely stressful work.
My favorite parts were getting at them beautiful cypress.

General - Homestead movie and series
Been getting hammered with facebook ads for it, seems the series is only on Angel Studios website and the movie dropped last week but I am not seeing it at local theater within a 60 mile radius. Seems it is a faith based production company but kind of a weird way to market something that looks...

@vad said it gets worse but as a restaurant owner it is pretty spot on in a lot of ways, wife and I are enjoying it and has actually opened up some interesting conversations about what we went through the past 20 years and things we would have changed or done differently.

Im a fan of all 3 seasons but Vad is right. The first season was stellar. They should've kept it entirely in the kitchen. I did enjoy the backstories of the characters, though.Started season three of the bear,
What is the spinoff? I don't remember that.
I started Hannibal maybe a year ago and not only was I surprised how good it was, I was surprised just how dark & gory it was considering it aired on NBC.
I did tap out I think in S3, though...it just got kinda "out there" and I couldn't tell if half of what I was watching was real or dream or hallucination or what.

I like a lot of what I call these "blue collar" shows - ones about that, fishing, gold mining, etc. Some of 'em are kinda hit-or-miss, but a lot of 'em are great.
I have lost touch with Deadliest Catch, though. Too many assholes on the show, the incessant arguing gets exhausting, and lol @ the DEI season a year or two ago.
There's two. I can't find any info but he goes hiding in France. It is pure cheese. Then there is Clarice which only lasted 1 season as well. I haven't seen that one.
