I would be fine with, if you don't have kids in school you no longer pay taxes for them. 40% of my property taxes goes directly to the school. My daughter has been out for 10 years.

What is the plan to cut spending and/or make it up in other areas?
That's my question, too. They already don't have state income taxes, and now wanna get rid of property taxes.

A google search says general salex tax is 6% which isn't too bad considering. And with as much tourism as Florida experiernces, sales tax at least benefits from that as opposes to slamming residents harder.

When I lived in Florida, I first learned what Personal Property Tax was. I owned a cheap, shitty car, and at the end of the year, I got a bill for a couple hundred bucks, almost what I paid for the car. I had never heard of that before. I was familiar with regular Property Tax, but not Personal Property Tax. I guess they assess the value of your stuff, and tax you on it at Christmas time too. Fuck that shit. Missouri does that shit too.

He doesn't have a plan and my guess is the suggestion wasn't meant to do anything other than boost his wife in polls.

Just get rid of public schools at that point. People are so over educated its ridiculous. That's 80% of the student loan crisis we are going through.

Let non profits, church, even private corporations step up to help the people who can't afford private education.

My property taxes are right around what I was paying for private K-8 schools for my son. I'd like a refund please 🤣

I like this. For those of us without any welfare recipients I say we should just pay our time served. IE once, I start working I pay for prek-12th grade. Then stop when I've paid my actual fair share.

As far as roads and public service like LEOs and firemen and city worker(ugh) I'm ok with paying that for the rest of my life but I want these departments(especially city) to be heavily monitored as far as spending goes. For example, I'm paying my city to fill in a hole they dug up a decade ago for a failed attempt at a duck pond and they are wasting as much time and resources doing it as slow as possible to milk the tax train. They think we're stupid. They're at a full stop, btw just blocking off roads. Someone lined their pockets and the budget seems to be depleted so there's just a mess around me that's been going on for 6 mos or so.

FRAT: only pay for the education you use if you don't have kids. City, LEO, etc budget should be heavily monitored and audited for efficiency.

After kids get into middle school or so, probably 80% of the classes they take are utterly useless.

I remember my old man used to say that a bunch of the prerequisties / requirements (into high school and even college) were great for making you "well-rounded" so you had something to talk about in the unemployment line. lol
