Why do all cigars just taste like burnt leafs and smoke to me? Iāve never gotten that, ānutty, earthy flavor with a pinch of lemon and honeyā like all of the bullshit descriptions.
If youāre just starting out itāll likely be difficult to tell the difference between an actual high end cigar & a crap one.
Taste is also very subjective so weāll all interpret flavors differently. What are the common themes in the cigars youāve tried? Light/medium/dark wrappers, size, etcā¦..
If being assisted by a professional, theyāll likely steer you to start off lighter then work up the chain.

Yeah. I tend to go with lighter smokes because the darker/heavier whatever you call it is just too much like, wellā¦ smoke. Like no flavor profile, just irritating smoke.
It sounds super gay as I type this but I have a sensitive tongue and halfway through a cigar I have to drink water or else it just irritates my mouth and I get no flavor.

Walking into a B&M you should be able to find at least a few of what's listed here. Also, most people have something to drink while having a cigar. Water will bring out additional flavors in several sticks. Also, the age of the cigar will have an impact on its flavor in a large way. As cigars age they go through different stages of fermentation & that can/will introduce flavors that will likely not be pleasant. If you see one of the cigars listed above with a yellowing, orange or brown cellophane on it, buy it & give it a shot. It's likely been on the shelf for a few years & has passed through any fermentation issues. That's a large reason why many in here keep such a large stash, so we can smoke aged sticks whenever we want.
