As a fan of history, this makes me sad.
it is sad to see it go but i cant say i have been in the store in the last 30 years and i went online to see if they have any bargains and the " bay blanket" is still 140 bucks. they are out to lunch with their pricing when an equal product could be had for under 50 bucks off of amazon . sucks to see a part of our history come to an end but i think they are out of touch with what people want or can afford to spend . also brick and mortar stores in general are a thing of the past and The Bay has just gone the way of Eatons, Zellers and Sears. The Hudsons Bay was one of the last pieces of Canadiana left from when Canada was just White people , Frenchmen and Indians. everything we have left now is part of post national Canada.

As a dude that's into the history of mountain men, hunting, trapping, etc. I've always wanted a Bay blanket just to have one. I mean, I'd use it on the couch or whatever, but it's not like it's a fucking comforter. The price point you mention is what's always kept me from buying one. As a middle class type of fella, I'm not really the sort the sort to throw down hundreds of dollars on a blanket because it's made from artisan sheep's wool or whatever the Hell.

$140 for something like that isn't much, especially if it's not made in Bangladesh or China.
