Think I mentioned this before, but was in Toronto a few months ago, airport was as if I was in Dheli. Big parts of the city as well. Used to go often about twenty years ago and the difference is black and white, I mean brown and white.
Newsom tried the same thing in California.
What happened?
It's the only EV company that manufactures cars in California. 55% of EV sales in California are Tesla. I doubt it goes anywhere, but it does show the lunacy of the democrats. It was proposed in November and for now sits in limbo.
I don't think they should have been eligible for rebates to begin with. Don't know about there. But the rebates here are supposed to incentivize people to buy an EV when they might not otherwise be able to. No one buying a $100 car needs a few grand back to help them pay for it. It's like giving out rebates for Corvettes, lol.
That is exactly what the tax rebate was for. They can't exclude an EV company from the rebate if it's to incentivize EV purchases. They either give the rebate to every EV company, reduce it, or wipe it out completely. There is no way to exclude a company, let alone the most American made (materials, labor, construction) car (gas and EV) on the market. I wouldn't own an EV, but from my understanding, it's the best EV in the world (prior to Trump winning in November), so this is see-through partisan bullshit.
i had a good laugh about everyone on our local forum being up in arms about the tesla rebate. coincidentally the only tesla dealership between vancouver and calgary opened up here this week and its big news . idk what people think they are going to do ..... if they are mad about elon musk being a nazi i have big news for them about volkswagon, ford, BMW, and porsche. go ahead and buy a chinese EV fuckheads. canada has a 100% import tax on them and there are zero dealerships when they need servicing. ya might as well buy one off temu

If the rebate is intended to make the cars affordable it would be easy, and make sense, to have a price cutoff.
