I missed this reply. That's a nice looking pack and we have the same sleeping mat

I like the tent, I am looking at getting a new one. I assume it has a rain fly, or do you use a tarp? Tyvek ground cover I see?
I prefer to leave the fly off if its going to be a nice night. I carry it just in case.

The tyvek ground cover cost $0 while the one that is made for the tent costs $60. Seemed like a no brainer. Ive been meaning to attach some grommets to the corners so I can pitch the fly,but haven't gotten around to it.

I've since "upgraded" my sleeping mat to a NeoAir XLite but I'm not convinced it's worth the $160. It weighs 12 oz and packs fairly small, but I think I prefer the ease and durability of the z lite. No worries about holes and such.

I like sleeping without the fly too. Saw a couple of meteorites and a large belt-like constellation Monday night. It just rains so often that I have to have the fly ready.

That NeoAir XLite looks nice. I agree with you, it's nice not having to worry about rips though. My wife tries to steal my zlite for a yoga mat.

Yeah every xmas holidays growing up. Not much since the kids.
Sounds like great memories bro. I'm jealous of your location.

I'm gonna stop on my way to work and get a Fiji water to drink in your honor.

I live in Australia now just as magical but expensive ha

You should visit Fiji zero anti American sentiment there. They dont give a fuck about geopolitics, eat, sleep and in your spare time fight with the neighbors is their lifestyle.

I use this aluminum set. It's super light and I cook bacon and eggs with it. Perfect for one person.

5-Piece Aluminum Mess Kit

And I use this stainless pot to boil water. It comes with 2 cups inside.

Nice thanks for this. I fucked up and didn't book accommodation for xmas holidays so am looking at a 4 berth house boat for the family but they dont supply cooking utensils and its tight on space inside.

This should do the trick ill get 4 there's a 4 burner cooker on board. Cheers

Cast iron skillet and Dutch oven is what you seek sir
You are right, they are nice. I brought that with the wife, but there is no way I'm carrying that in my pack for a solo trip. Way too heavy.

There is cookery on board but ill still get the cooling stuff for camping check out the floor plan of the boat

Wow, that is going to be a fun trip. Keep in mind that the cook kit I recommend is very small and ideal for hiking. You can cook about 2 maybe 3 eggs at a time.

Thanks mate last few years we've stayed at 4 star resorts and besides the pool it was all lost on the kids. I took them winter camping thus year with just the very basics and the kids wont stop talking about it. 4 man tent army surplus tent, fishing gear, shovel for digging shit pits, food and a bottle of single malt irish whiskey.

Meh maybe forgetting to book a room at the resort is a blessing in disguise. Would cost $1500aud thats a lot of camping gear ha
