He won 3/4 rounds but okTbh, while there are plenty of good fights for him, I thought they should have stopped that fight with lawler when he blitzed him at the end of the third (think it was the third).......he earned my respect and he never had it until then.....
Rory was up 3-1 on all 3 judges' scorecards before the 5th round.Who, Robert or Rory?
Can't argue with that.......he took an ass kicking from a beast.....and i wanted Robbie to win.....but I was begging for the bell when he was laying that beating on Robbie.Rory was up 3-1 on all 3 judges' scorecards before the 5th round.
The problem is that he had nothing left for that fifth round and Robbie did.
Robbie is as tough as they come. It would be very difficult, if not impossible, to TKO the guy. He has only been KO'd once when he was young and put himself way out of position. I don't see him making that mistake now that he has more experience in the cage. Can't argue with that.......he took an ass kicking from a beast.....and i wanted Robbie to win.....but I was begging for the bell when he was laying that beating on Robbie.
The UFC hasn't made many match ups lately based on who's deserving. It's all about the $$$ and Lawler vs Diaz would draw.I love Nick Diaz, but can someone please explain to me why he deserves a title shot? He hasn't won a fight since 2011.
I'll give you the short version:I love Nick Diaz, but can someone please explain to me why he deserves a title shot? He hasn't won a fight since 2011.
I agree, but this would be one of the worst ones in my opinion. Nick's last 3 fights are a loss to Carlos Condit (who just lost to the champ), a loss for the same WW belt(against one of the GOATs), and a loss (against another one of the GOATs) in a non-title fight. I think they need to give Nick a non-title fight that he can win before giving him the champ. Matt Brown. The UFC hasn't made many match ups lately based on who's deserving. Rory arguably won the first fight and was winning that second fight before completely gassing. In his last 5 fights, Rory has lost to Robbie twice. Their last fight ended in a brutal KO. He's a long way from a rematch.
The best thing for him would be if Robbie loses the belt to somebody else, creating a fresh championship match for him or a rematch with Condit (another fight he dominated early before getting KOed late). In the meanwhile, he's going to have to win at least a couple of fights.
1. He beat the champ in dominating fashion over 11 years ago. Shouldn't have anything to do with matchmaking in 2016.I'll give you the short version:
1. He's already beaten the champ in dominating fashion.
2. He is a needle mover.
3. After everything the NSAC did to try to fuck his career up, the least the UFC could do to make up for it is let him get a shot at the gold.
Condit will probably get the next shot but after Condit Nick is the #1 contender.
Oh I agree. I just don't think the UFC gives a fuck lol.I agree, but this would be one of the worst ones in my opinion. Robbie always has that extra gas left. We see these close ww championship fights ever since GSP left the game. GSP was part of some of those as well. Looking back though, makes you respect how long GSP held on to that belt. Welter weight is probably the toughest class out there.Rory was up 3-1 on all 3 judges' scorecards before the 5th round.

Robbie would leave conor a bloody pulp, are we serious here ?Rory v Carlos for #1 spot then Robbie v Conor at 200 for the strap it's the only thing that makes gents, we all know it.
