I would love to go just for the trip but if im gonna shoot something, It would be a pig. Im not opposed to hunting at all, just doesnt make sense for me to do it for sport. My family does not depend on it as a meat source. I live in California and the deer are already scarce enough. The hogs though. There is something about hogs. They are vicious. If you make a mistake, it could cost you your life. It kind of levels out the playing field a bit.

I tend to hunt the moose like this these days (not as close though)

Also I usually hunt on Ojibwe land and give most of the meat to the community on the reserve. (I take some for sausage and a few steaks).

Damn, I must say that's disturbing.

I have a problem with killing anything that's not for food, especially when it walks up like your buddy, and you stick it from 5 fucking feet away.
I almost wish the Moose turned and plowed her.

We don't get Moose around here anymore, I couldn't even find one in Yellowstone this year.
I hope to God she ate/used that animal...

It absolutely killed me.

sparkuri @sparkuri my closest shot was about 12 yards or so. I have honestly only shot 5 with a bow, I let a lot of opportunities pass too (mostly with deer) because I try to be as selective with my shots as possible, unless I'm sure in my mind that it will be a kill I let it pass.
