So how much is gang violence would be my question.

The USA has almost no crime in most areas (by that i mean same as all the rest of developed western world, etc) and then, literally, a Somali crime rate in a small number.

To treat "mass shootings" in one category of crazy theter shooters and gang violence is to fully fail go understand the problem...and thus will fail at an actual solution. It's tantamount to just mentioning gun deaths.. Means nothing. Most white gun deaths are suicide. Almost all black gun deaths are homicide.


"Mass shooting" is a loaded term that obfuscates the issue.

I think people wanting to know how the statistics pan out are looking for a way to pass the buck on the issue. But, to each their own.

Mass shootings primarily occur on the weekends. I guess people don't want to waste company time when going on a rampage.

That is a ton of mass shootings. They should probably make murder illegal so it doesn't happen anymore.

Or I'm not and fixing poverty and social structures that have decimated black America will fix most homicides. And waiting periods will not.

On the other hand, waiting periods and increased reporting might help suicides, but are unlikely to help the insane black murder rate in Chicago.

An assault weapons ban would not help any of them.


So given the pandering of politicians pushing banning rifles on looks, while ignoring that most gun crime is pistols, I think it worth continuing to understand the underlying ACTUAL issues.

This is going to sound fucked up of me in a crazy sort of way, but i generally stay away from major cities. I always feel like my skin is trying to leap off my body when i'm in one. Could be the PTSD, i dunno. But fuck that noise. Fuck large crowds, fuck dangerous neighborhoods.

If shit pops off i'm gonna be ready for it. But i don't invite trouble if i can avoid it.

Consider that 80% of those white deaths are suicide, while almost all of those black deaths are murder...

That leaves 4/100,000 gun murders in the white community -- care to guess how low that number goes when you look at those white and not in poverty? The black community is living a violence on par with the worst countries on earth.

Multiple Americas, multiple different gun problems





Why do care about about what a mass shooting is? For the same reason it matters what a "gun death" is.
