I had one in my utility room and it looked big enough, I imagine it could catch a pet slipping. Ok I'm wrong, having researched apparently it's badgers I should worry about, apparently they have no problem killing domestic animals here.
Was it a bitch to get out? I had opossums get inside of my shed at my old house but I could always just corral them into a garbage can.

I've read that about the UK. That you guys think it cruel not to let your cats outside.

Just a different mindset here. I've known people whose cats have disappeared or been hit by cars. I live in a pretty urban area though.
I don't think it's a cruelty issue. Well not for me anyway. Just no reason not to let them out. Cats are pretty smart with roads.

Maybe just not American cats huh?

No badgers in Florida. We do have raccoons and they are definitely big and nasty enough to kill a housecat, but it's not in their nature to kill anything that poses no threat to them and they have no interest in eating a cat. I've often seen feral cats and raccoons eating next to each other (more like 5-10 feet apart) at the dumpster in my apartment complex.
Cool, you know racoons can literally see with their hands? they have nerves in there that link to there optical center in the brain.

Not really but when we found him he was under this free standing shelf deal and the door was closed, fuck knows how long he'd been there. I rattled a sweeping brush down the back of it and he bolted out the door. True as god, the little bastard had a shit on the doorstep that night.

We got her from a shelter when she was a pup. The people there were adamant that she was a staffy x rottweiler. Which is nonsense. Staff x lab is my guess.
What ever it is them Staffy genes went buck wild I love it, here's mine.

No we just have larger roads and more people driving.

I imagine if we had 1/5 of our population crammed into the state of Pennsylvania then a lot of things would be different though.

I did not know that. Very cool. They are very clever animals too.

Lol. Well a raccoon would be smart and quick enough to get out before you went to get the broom. An opossum would be a different story. Fucking huge teeth and nasty as fuck when cornered. Often times they will just play dead, but fuck ever letting one get ahold of your arm.

That's mostly how the urban ones get by but they'll eat almost anything. My neighbor left his bird cage outside and closed but unlocked. When he woke up the next morning the cage was empty.

They are omnivorous though and the wild ones will eat berries, nuts, fruit, small insects, and small reptiles or mammals I imagine.

You know you're tough when you can survive this:

I was thinking they had a similar role. What's the craic with badgers? none in US or just florida? That racoon was a bad ass literally took him in deep water.
They're only in colder weather states I believe. We have bobcats in Florida and panthers in protected areas out west but I've never seen either one. Elusive as fuck

Same as badgers I stumbled across one day way out in the boonies, mid afternoon weirdly. Only ever see them dead on or scurrying off the road usually.

She was a skeleton when I brought her home. Grain free high protein food and plenty of love and she has put on almost 20 lbs.
I just switched to that shit half way through the first bag, already my staffy has stopped twitching when excited, last week he would literally vibrate at the door almost like he was shaking in fear that has stopped now, he still circles and whines but no shaking. My Malamute/Huskie was like that when I got him I could feel his spine and pelvis very clearly. He was five at the time, only last year but he has decent muscle now. He's still half skinny but.
