Ya she was hit and miss with me.I'm on episode 6. Electra is getting on my nerves. But, pretty good so far.
That prison fight with frank doe. That was intense. I gotta say my favorite Punisher scene had to be the graveyard conversation with Matt in episode 4. The feels.Who's watched? Who's watching? Things you liked. Things you didn't like?
I personally thought it was great. Punisher stole the show! That scene when he was captured and he pulls the razor blade out of the stitched up cut on his arm. Then reveals the capture was part of his plan all along? Holy shit! What a great moment!
The fight scenes again are fantastic! The sequence against the bikers in the hallway and stairwell was incredible! Not to mention Daredevil and Elektra taking on a swarm of ninjas from the Hand.
Hopefully the same choreographer is on board for Iron Fist.
It didn't play for me but I went and found it on Youtube. I like what they're doing on Netflix with these characters.Be sure to catch the Luke Cage teaser at the end of this season.
A nice little teaser plus the reveal of its release date.
My friend had the same problem with his smart tv app. Worked fine for me on playstation but you're right it's around on youtube. It didn't play for me but I went and found it on Youtube. I like what they're doing on Netflix with these characters.
I can't imagine marvel/netflix wouldn't do another season.I just want season 3 please.
Right there with ya. Finally got around to finish the season.Oh boy, time to be that dick.
I thought the action was even better than the first. It was thrilling. But the storytelling & character develop IMHO was not as well done. Wilson Fisk was so complicated & multidimensional. The stuff with his father made him sympathetic & heartbreaking. Part of me was rooting for him & Vanessa.
Bernthal gave an excellent performance, but IMHO it was as multidimensional as D'Onofrio. Part of that was the writing. Bernthal didn't have as much to work with as D'Onofrio.
I enjoyed Season 2, but I'd like to see better storytelling within the action. If they can combine the character development of Season 1 with the pace & action of Season 2...man.
I wish I could answer your questions, Q @Qat . NYC with a cockblocking hero, the Hand (?) Hole (LOL), the people draining device, Stick's stupidity, boring Nobo...I have no answers for any of it. If anything, you did a much better job articulating more issues I had with Season 2.Right there with ya. Finally got around to finish the season.
Well, I did like it, good TV, and I want a 3rd season, not doubts about it.
But I did dig the first season more, and had my gripes with this one, it had its up and downs, and a couple of things were weird / cheap.
The Punisher was great and I liked how they included Fisk and picked off where they stopped last season, and generally had a big scope. Maybe it was getting a little too big though. They managed to keep the atmosphere mostly, but yeah, the storytelling felt a little misguided sometimes, even though they did a good job to not get lost in it.
Elektra was interesting, but Stick was annoying. Arrogant dude who always pretends to know what's best, when he is the reason the whole shit went down to begin with and makes mistakes all day. And the whole the Chaste thing, blah.
In general I missed a lot of context, maybe some of you can answer:
Why is all this shit going down in New York? All them Asian mofos, can't they do their shit somewhere where no hero is around and they are more powerful/influential to begin with? What happened with the hole? Why did they do that? After killing that Nobo-guy, they just let all the Ninjas go and continue with their strange device, and the people they drain? They do not think about these guys bringing back people from the dead and basically handle the body of whatever the Black Sky is over to them? Dafuq is wrong with these idiots? Stick is the biggest idiot ever, that is what I'm getting from that.
And Nobo was an uninteresting antagonist. Which is fine though if we at least really would know what this is all about. Its annoying as hell that we still don't know shit. What is Black Sky, why the hole, who else and how was Nobo brought back (do they even need Black Sky anymore?), couldn't they bring back the child from last season too? And why the fuck in New York? Daredevil doesn't even leave the city. Fucking go to Connecticut to execute you criminal masterplan at least, haha.
In general the final was... not good, and felt like taken out of a B-movie... The fight scenes were getting worse the longer the season was (as somebody already mentioned, some were really great! - others, not so much), it was telegraphed as shit that and how Elektra is going to die, and the execution of it was simply bad. Had to roll my eyes at the cheesiness as well.
By the way, didn't DD speak of hordes of ninjas they had to fight, and we did see at least 50 approaching I'd say, and that's why they will probably die? And on the roof.. they were like.. 10? Dafuq.
The season was the strongest when Fisk and Punisher were on screen.
Even though the morality-discussion was getting a bit annoying too, at least on DD's side. And DD with his: 'I follow the law, I believe in the law.' No you don't you stupid fuck, you are going around assaulting people and breaking bones and faces, that is not legal. Punisher stole his show.
But I also missed context on the Blacksmith-storyline. So, the guy was the Blacksmith and had his former underlings working for him in the drug-trade now, fine. And he did ask Frank too, Frank declined, right? And Frank was not able to connect the dots earlier? And why was the Blacksmith doing all that anyway? No motive. I get that they didn't have enough time to cram everything in, but a little bit of exposition in the talk with Karen would have sufficed.
Speaking of Karen, first, she is hot as shit and plays well. But the love-story with DD felt shoe-horned in, unnecessary, and came out of left field, didn't she had something with Froggy in season 1? Also keeping her in the dark for so long about his activities made no sense any more. She was getting into much more trouble than Froggy.
These are my first thoughts directly after finishing.
But yeah, its basically complaining about first world problems. I still liked it.
You are kinda right, good point!I wish I could answer your questions, Q @Qat . NYC with a cockblocking hero, the Hand (?) Hole (LOL), the people draining device, Stick's stupidity, boring Nobo...I have no answers for any of it. If anything, you did a much better job articulating more issues I had with Season 2.
Bear with me for a second: I watch The Walking Dead with my wife cause I love her (not of my own accord). For years now, it seems like the weak plot points & senseless character decisions were just filler till the shocking character deaths. And never more so than this season, which was just an excuse to have Negan bash someone's head with bat...& then not tell you till next season. Cheap, lazy, stupid & annoying.
In some ways, this season's Daredevil felt like an excuse to get to the fighting, & in The Punisher's case, the killing. Him killing everyone was set up to be a shocking contrast to Murdock's assault/bone/facial breaking. All the questions that you asked were made secondary, when they shouldn't have been . It felt like the producers thought that the fight scenes would be compelling enough to skimp on storytelling & character development.
foggy nelson is good comic relief ,I still see him as a bash brother so that messes with my head.I enjoyed the second season, however, I don't think it was as good as the first one. Several of the reasons have been mentioned already in this thread but 2 things that really stuck with me weeks after finishing it.
First, there was no single villian. It was more of a group of no name villians just to fight (reminded me of the ultron bots from Avengers 2) and without that main villians' character to play off of, the others weren't as strong. I know Punisher was supposed to be the villian but he just wasn't...he's the punisher. While a very good performance of him, villian just wasn't a word I'd use to describe it.
Second, Murdocks surrounding characters. Elektra was ok in spurts but Karen and Froggy just annoyed the piss out of most of the times they were on the screen. All they did was piss and moan it seemed. They (and Ben) were strong points of the first season but just came across weak in this one.
For me, I think the highest point of the season was probably in prison when Fisk made his appearance. His portrayal of that character is just so strong and it adds so much. On the downside, it also helped to make the weaknesses more obvious to me. That's just my .02, everyone have a good day.
