Holm's manager, Lenny Fresquez implied that Tate was actually offered to fight Holm, but turned down the offer.

"She chose to take a weaker opponent," said Fresquez. "She's not as stand-up as Holly. She said she'd take on the best, but she's not willing to take on the best." The champion denied the statement via MMA Junkie, and revealed that it was in fact the UFC's idea that she fights Nunes next.

"They thought that Amanda was the next best girl in line," Tate said. "They were like, ‘Look, you just beat Holly. You finished her.' They didn't feel that it was necessary to have an immediate rematch; it didn't warrant an immediate rematch. It wasn't one of those performances or such a crazy fight that we've got to have an immediate rematch.

I actually don't mind they're mixing it up. The win was clear and Holly wasn't a long running champ. I find it refreshing to see someone else in the mix other than Rousey, or Holly. I am sure if Rousy was available, we would've seen yet another rematch.

Tate was getting beat for 5 rounds, all judges had it 4-0 Holly yet she gets caught in a take down and submitted and that doesn't warrant a rematch? And Weidman got beat like a thrift store drum and that deserves a rematch? Core math at its finest

All three judges gave Tate the second round 10-8. While I agree that Holly had the upper hand until the final takedown, it wasn't even close to 4-0.

Yea a former champ should never get a rematch when losing a close fight. Dont pretend that Nate would get a rematch if Conor won. See Chad Mendes
Once again, you are comparing incomparable situations. The Mendes fight was an interim title fight. It would have been a way worse decision to give Chad a rematch than it was to make the Conor-Nate rematch. There are no set rules that the UFC has to follow, and their job is to be entertaining, it isn't their primary goal to be consistent with their matchmaking. I was confused myself with them running Conor and Nate back, but it is not anywhere close to the same situation as Holm and Mendes not getting rematches.

Sure it was close to 4-0. Tate got lucky and scored the take down, Other than that she was losing that fight on all 3 score cards and the millions watching around the world.

The ConorDiaz rematch is a joke. If conor is so set on fighting, theres a belt that needs to be defended. Dont run!

"They were like look you just beat Holly, you finished her". Haha what a load of shite Velasquez was scheduled to rematch Werdum after getting beatdown, Mcgregor is getting a rematch, Weidman is getting a rematch. We all know the UFC are inconsistent with there decisions this decision seems to be more about Dana's problem with Holly's manager.

Of course Tate picked the easier fight. Holly was up 3-1 when Miesha got the sub in the 5th.

I'm not saying Miesha can't beat Holly again, but it's a much tougher fight for her than Amanda "Kimbo Cardio" Nunes.

The UFC knows they had an easier out and took it and for the record the holm rematch was and is necessary............if Conor wants it, no problem but anyone else, you have to beg and be denied......that fight was not a one sided beating and they know it, but the fight they chose instead makes no sense to me but I've only watched 2 women's fights so I can't really be a "considered" opinion.

Tate got lucky? Haha she also got a TD in the 5th and finished the fight. You can't be serious. Literally every judge gave it a 10-8.

I wasn't saying what I was saying to defend the Conor-Diaz rematch. I was saying that comparing it to the Mendes or Holm situations isn't appropriate.

We have heard that explanation a million times. We get it. Sometimes I think you guys forget what a business's goals are, and how the UFC got to where they are today. There is a severe lack of rationality.
