Haha, it was after around 100 that I stopped following it closely. Maybe it's time to jump back in!

Just wait until USADA and injuries get ahold of this card. Itll look like a fight night card at Wild Bills Steakhouse.

I do wonder, is McGregor vs Diaz 2 really the fight that would generate the most revenue at UFC 200

any suggestions on a bigger fight? (without being ridiculous)

I didn't wanna wait so many months for another McGregor fight either if I'm honest, but that's life eh

Was thinking RDA, but that was before the Nate fight...now that he's lost he's gonna have to try to beat him to try to recapture that image. I would want to see the Frankie fight, but that's not gonna be bigger even than Conor-Nate 5. Jose Aldo 2 could have been a thing though.

Aww cmon you're allowed to wrestlefuck Pettis, RDA did it too :D
did you hear all the shit Alvarez said he would do to Nate Diaz? blanketing him for 25 minutes so he can't even land a punch

FUUUUUUUUUUU Alvarez he gets quality opponents and still insists on trolling the UFC

"Nate Diaz is shit. He's a wannabe with a list. I'm gonna blanket him for 25 minutes straight. That's right 25 minutes straight, cause I don't fight on a card. I headline cards. I will hug the shit out of him. Ref stands us up ? I'll take him down again. I'll wrestlefuck him till Kingdom come. Fight ? I don't come to fight. I come to win. And win is what I'm doing against that cocksucker Nate Diaz. He won't be able to throw a single punch at me with my hands wrapped around him for 1500 seconds. Ask Anthony Pettis about it."

ROFL hahahah
I'm biased towards the Diaz bros, but that's a statement I can respect. I think the UFC tried to run Alvarez through the gauntlet (whose first fight is Cerrone??? then Melendez, then Pettis, cmon!), which works in the UFC's favour to show that hey, look at this bellator champ that lost in our league, and he did, so my guess is now he's being extra cautious. I don't remember how the beef with Nate started though, I think Nate had a few choice words for him (when he was fighting Giblert mb?).

Melendez got an instant title shot and Shields got a "win and guaranteed title shot" fight vs Kampmann, which he almost lost.

these fighters push for those big fights even before they sign a contract

I'm saying Alvarez wouldn't have wanted an easier run. He considered himself the best
That is true, I just think that fight (w/ Cerrone) changed him. I think he realised he wouldn't go very far if he fought like a madman always.

Hey, anyone going to UFC 200? I'm heading over from Australia to conduct "research" at the event. As in, I'm a MMA fan and using the event as a good excuse to conduct research on spectator experiences and MMA subculture. I'm a postgrad student at Southern Cross Uni.

Would anyone who is heading to UFC 200 be interested in being interviewed? All interview details would be kept anonymous.
Beer or three promised in exchange for your interview :beermug: I'm staying at NY NY Hotel but happy to come to where others are staying.

well looks like UFC 200 is getting a new main event, and the McGregor story has come to an end.
