yeeup.

its unfortunate when companies treat their employees as commodities rather than human beings.

same thing with GSP. He brought the UFC millions and millions of dollars and put them on a larger map. Company man for a decade. Says he might retire after an emotional fight, then bam! throw him under the bus 20 minutes later.

He can't be a good employee until he starts slurring his speech and begging for more fights. Section 2.4.116 of the employee handbook.

Just curious, is there any confirmation that it was Sholler who caused the Burt thing?

I heard rumors, but never saw any confirmation. I'm a bit out of the loop.

Anyway. Complete shame. Burt is the man. Click on the Tweet he sent out when he first retired. You will literally see hundreds of replies from UFC fighters, coaches, and employees from the past and present telling him how great he is, how bad this sucks, how much they will miss him etc. He was universally liked.

That is pretty rare in any profession, nevermind professional fighting.

Just very, very lame

No confirmation. Just some rumblings on twitter. Sholler denied it.

This article kind of summarizes it. UFC PR Chief Dave Sholler denies involvement in Burt Watson incident - Long Island MMA | Examiner.com

He's already working for Legacy or RFA, he was running their show the other week.

has anyone in the media bothered to ask Burt on what went down? Is Burt not giving interviews or are people afraid of asking Burt not wanting to rock the boat with Dana?

Media have asked, but he won't name names.
did he say theoretically what occurred? like was it a weight cut he missed, or he forgot to walk someone to the event or he wasnt present when someone's gloves were being put on.

like without giving names, im wondering what the disagreement was about.

There was a mix up and there wasn't a van provided to take Munoz back to his hotel after his second weigh in attempt. Someone from the UFC then approached him later and apparently bitched him out for it.

whoa that was it eh? man. dude works there for years and is solid, make one little mistake and things got crazy.

i would have thought for such a small issue the fertittas would have reached out to Burt to sort things out.

thanks for the info bud!
