he won't be able to keep up with Diazs volume if he tries to pace himself..
That's the thing though, he doesn't have to keep up with Diaz's volume. NOBODY can keep up with Diaz's volume. What you do is chop his legs out from under him and engage only on your terms. Diaz's whole style is to get guys angry and have them come out swinging and wasting energy. Michael Johnson fell into that trap, as did many other guys. You come out and play Diaz's game and you'll lose: he has a head like iron, he can absorb a lot of head shots.

Conor will make his energy work for him next time and win, this I gaurantee.

He did have Nate wobbled a couple of times, but yeah his language here seems to suggest that the fight was razor thin until he got caught, which isn't exactly the case. Conor was successful when Nate was pacing himself and Conor was going full speed. I don't completely doubt that Conor can beat him, but if he is gonna beat him he has to be honest with himself.

For the record, the above could just be what Conor is saying publicly to try to gain the faith of his supporters and garner interest in the rematch. He could be totally aware of what happened, but who knows?

If I see 13 or 14 more Mcgregor threads, I swear I'm outta here.

I mean shiiiiiite, what's KJ Noons doing these days?
Is there a thread for Lorenz Larkins wacky hairdos?

I will take care of both of those subjects really quick.

Noons lost his last fight to Josh Burkman, and before that he lost to Alex Oliveira. Hasn't won a fight in over 2 years.

Lorenz Larkin's hair was terrible this weekend, and it actually made me enjoy his performance less. It looked like the side of his head got cut off with a circular saw. He looked good and the fight was good, but Jesus Christ was that hair terrible.

Noons pisses me off much like Saffiedine.
I think they both need to throw caution to the wind a bit more.

If Conor comes into the fight 155-158 pounds, and his cardio on point, then he may make it to the 4th round...but I suspect Nate's pressure and volume still ends up being too much for him, and we see another finish.

McGregor WAS done. In two rounds, to a guy with no camp. And he knew it at the post fight press conference.

Cabo Nate took more shots than he should have due to lack of camp. Full camp Nate will mangle him even worse.

I am not disagreeing with you, but you really think he should come in up to 15 lbs light? Would they let him fight at that point? I think they should, personally.. I just don't know what the max weight difference is for a non-heavyweight fight.

I'm just basing that off the first fight where he said he basically gorged himself to try and get to 170, and sacrificed cardio to do it. That made no sense to me. Just think he come in at his natural (optimum) weight, because he's not fighting a WW anyway. He's fighting a natural 155er that's undersized at 170.

That makes sense. I have not fought before, so I am unaware what the difference in size does in MMA. I would imagine the difference in height is more important, and that's the same no matter what they weigh.

Seriously. I never seen someone lose so bad and still talk shit lol.

You got played, became a wrestler, got mounted, GNP, then tapped quicker to a choke then sage did.

He doesn't realize this talk makes him sound so stupid

Weight wise, I'd say Nate & Conor are very close when they're both in optimal condition. Conor cuts about 20 pounds to get to 145 and looks like death on the scale. Nate's cut to 155 isn't nearly as bad, and he actually looks well conditioned on the scale. At 170, they both carry some unnecessary pounds IMO. I would suspect we Conor come into the rematch around 158 pounds...Nate around 166-167. Just my guess.

Conor's used to having a size & reach advantage at 145. Against Nate, he has neither...whether the fights at LW or WW. So he's gonna have his hands full again IMO. He needs to focus on being able to match Nate's cardio & output, because I don't think he can knock him out. I really don't. He may get a stoppage via a cut or something though...that's possible.

KennyF @KennyF made it to the finals of TUF at 185. He then went on to fight for titles in the next 3 lower weight classes. Excuses are just excuses so we could say he was fighting 40 lbs heavier than he should have been and is the true GOAT since he actually won fights.

I'm not making excuses for McGregor...trust me. Just suggesting he sacrificed cardio (and possibly speed), to try and come in heavier in that first fight, and IMO it wasn't a very good strategy.

Bj sacrificed cardio for size against Machida, was still outweighed by 35 lbs and went to a decision. What you got next? Remember when BJ went up weight classes and won titles?

Interesting take on it but I see the opposite. As you mentioned Conor has had the size advantage in most his fights but I think he's gonna do his best to keep that going. I see McG coming in at 169-170, he also cuts more than you've suggested (28 lbs!!)

UFC 189 star Conor McGregor Faces 27-Pound Weight Cut

I think to suggest he tries to match Nate's cardio and output is is big task and unlikely, basically change his style completely for one opponent. Besides this being incredibly hard to do at this point in his career he'd be looked at as taking the safe route and point fighting if he lost again and I think that would be the last blow to his aura or what's still left of it. I see him still going in looking to finish early but will pick his shots more carefully, a little more patient but not a pace that can be maintained over 5 rounds.

Somebody else mentioned he use the RDA approach but I just don't think he's capable. He's only been into the third round once (Max Holloway) and to think he's gonna become a pressure fighter similar to RDA is a big leap IMO. Conor does his best work as a range fighter setting traps, using good movement and precision strikes with big power behind them.

This is one of those classic case of, "i was winning until I lost.."
