I also have the A3 and now S4 as mentioned. A friend has the M8 and loves it, I'm liking the notes but wouldn't mind trying something other than Samsung just to see.

Pros/con's please. I realize I can google this shit but I'm looking for replies from people who actually use the device.
Large Note size screen, straight android, no bloatware, just an overall great phone.

I'm replyig to you from one. Preorder and all that jazz. Have had a nexus for a few regenerations and android for 6+ years. I change phones yearly...

I would get a note 4 right now.
Nexus needs a software update. Currently random reboot and battery is about 1-2 hours screen in time less than the note. And Samsung keeps the latest gen screen for themselves so this phone is one gen out.

I love vanilla android but google missed the mark here. Buy a note 4, uninstall what you can and disable the other shit. Enjoy your better resell value.
Next nexus supposed to go back to LG and should be better.

Was so close to pulling the trigger on the new Nexus, but then I found out there was no microSD slot. That's a deal breaker for me. The HTC One M9 just came out and is getting pretty good reviews. Sony Xperia Z4 is also worth checking out. Supposedly it's going to drop sometime next month.

Samsung makes a damn fine phone, but I can't buy into another phone with a locked bootloader. Root and a custom ROM is ideal when using an android and the locked bootloader makes that fairly difficult. If you've never looked into flashing a custom ROM, head over to http://forum.xda-developers.com and check it out.

Only messed with them in the store. Good build quality. Reviews are good. But Note 4 has best battery, best screen, best resell...

I'm not even a Samsung fan at all. SD cards are slow phone technology that is going away and will disappear except for very niche items in 2 years. I change phones every year and have never once needed to change batteries. I prefer vanilla android. Id prefer people to want to buy my nexus thatll be for sale next fall with the next release....I'm still saying to pass and get the Note 4. Also big screen is amazing and.you'll never go back one you switch bigger.

Can you tell what the vanilla is all about? I fully agree on screen size too.

Most likely true, but I still rely on external storage for my music collection so I can have it wherever I go. I think the idea with the Nexus 6 is to leave out the microSD in lieu of cloud-based streaming, which isn't a bad idea on paper, but data overages are way costly and there is no reliable way to mount a simple SMB share to android phones. Maybe one day...

I decided to order the Note 4, itll be at my place by Monday :) I've been watching YouTube videos on it and I'm pretty excited, I should be able to do some photoshops with that stylus it comes with. As far as the external memory I thinks its a great option as I gave no idea how these cloud services work or who has access and how long that shit is stored.

I got an SG S5 and i'm eyeing a Sony Z4 on the release date some were this month, because of the underwater camera functionality i believe sony phones are a bitch to root on the release but love me some underwater action pics.

Can't work for my work upgrade (think it's July), so I can get the IPhone6...or whatever version they're on by then.

I'm quite a fan of LG devices. I have a few and they're always easy to root and work with. Battery life on the latest devices is amazing - I lose about 10% over night on my G3S

Battery life is the thing that I can't stand about Apple products.

I'm super impressed at how fast the Note 4 charges and it keeps going for a long time. I use my phone for probably 85% of all my internet use so the battery and big screen are great to have.
