That cold hard policy they implemented so proudly, we see withering away before our eyes as loophole after loophole, excuse after excuse, allows us fans, and the organization to look the other way when it pertains our favorite fighter.

I saw Jon Jones' comeback as something positive, I had forgiven him as a fan. Daniel Cormier made sure of that. There is always a way back for these guys to become a fan favorite once again. But when time after time fights are canceled, doubt are casts on records, and each and everytime the fans intellegence is being mocked, I'd rather see a very simple implementation of these guidelines THEY decided to implement.

As a Pride fan, I have learned to look the other way. But at least they did not pretend to have an organization that oozes crisp, clean, righteous fighters while trying to convince us otherwise. I am ok with Bones fighting as it is still his division, I just can't pretend to believe all these vague justifications that really diminish the legitimacy their drug program. It does the opposite.

And yeah, if Bisping pops, abandon all hope....
i agree, the excuse of tainted supplements are getting very old. They should implement a 1.5 year ban for tainted supplement excuse.

I'm all about a clean sport, and ultimately about the long term health of the fighters.... That being said, I've also seen reps for supplement companies sell fighters into their products, claiming that they're all natural, or whatever other sales pitch they have. They also pay out sponsorship dollars to the fighters, so of course fighters jump on that opportunity to get extra cash.

I agree that fighters in all sports have to do their own due diligence as to what they're taking, but unless they're paying for labs to test everything they take/eat, they'll never truly know.
I agree with what you said, but have you ever seen the list of banned substances on the USADA website? ITS HUGE! Realistically the only way to ensure you don't fail a test is to be completely clean. No vitamins. No creatine. No fat burners, nothing. Get your protein from your red meat and fish, vitamins from your veg and fruit and carbs from your bread and spuds etc. If I were a pro fighter, I'd try my best to stay clean. Anyways, back to my original, I definitely think it's possible Jon didn't purposely take a banned substance. Do I believe it, maybe not, but I do think it's possible.

I have said it before on another thread but the supplement company should be held liable for putting out tainted product.especially when the tainted product contains medication or banned substances.can you imagine buying some Kirkland creatine powder only to find out it has trace amounts of random pharmaceuticals? They would get their asses sued off.when a guy gets a 2 year ban the company that sold the tainted product should owe 2 years income

Jones didn't write down what he took. Then his manager said they were going to buy stuff off the shelves to test.

So, what if Jones took something knowingly, and then bought up a bunch of different things, tested all of them, found a tainted supplement, and then went back to usada and claimed that was what he took? There is nothing to stop him from doing that.

That would be super time consuming, expensive, and still really hard to prove. USADA will take your supplements that you claim to be taking and then they go out and independently source more from a store, preferably from the same lot number, and then they test them. So I get it that it's possible but you almost need the stars to align with your deep pockets in order for that method to work.

I can't remember if it was Tim Means or someone else that recently suggested that an athlete should always buy two of everything they intend to use. Not a bad idea as it would give USADA one more sample to test that was purchased from the same place at the same time from the same lot. It won't prove innocence but it could prove that you weren't intentionally trying to use PEDs.

Even when it's been proven that some supplements are tainted?
It's really not hard to find a tainted supplement after failing and claim you ingested it. Bodybuilding.com has extensive threads on supplements that have anabolic agents in them that haven't been pulled from shelves. If you pop, you simply keep a tub of the stuff on standby and claim the trace metabolites came from the supplement rather than whatever you're actually on.

Jones is either the unluckiest guy on earth or a smart fighter with good management who is now very experienced with dealing with crises. I believe it's the latter. Either way I'm not hating. He's the best and anything that gets him back to being in the cage is positive.

I think good management is correct....

no way around it imo.
i dont care how it got there.did it matter to the other fighters skull while you were elbowing the hell out of it,how a ped got into your system?

real simple.
if its in your system you fucking failed you fucking goof.
good bye see you in two years for your first offense.
the only person responsible for what shows up in a fighters drug test is the fighter providing the test sample.
period.
period.
period.
period.
period.
muddling the water and pointing fingers does not change that simple pure and undeniable fact.
whats in a fighters test sample is purely up to said fighter.
period.
period.
period.

Sneaky language. Whether he knew or not is irrelevant. Enforce the standard or don't.
No, it's not that simple. If he wasn't knowingly taking it and he didn't know that it was present in whatever he was taking, it is not the same as knowingly ingesting it.

its really simple troll...
did he test positive for a banned substance?
if yes swing the ban hammer.
the punishment is two years first time.
did he do it on purpose?
does not matter.
failed test good bye for two years first time.
enforce the tests or get rid of them.

no gray area there.

Cant wait till Brock is vindicated and all is right in the world once again. The internet scientists will still hate but who really gives a shit what some truck driver has to say about whats allowed or not.

I expect Jones and Brock to be issued a full and formal apology from usada in the very near future.
Get your tinfoil hats out folks.

The accidental ingestion was Brock. The straight fail was Jones. Brock told Uncle Dana that he was done because Daddy Vince says it's back to WWE for him. Then he told Dana to let Bones skate with a questionable "I didn't know" and that he'd take the heat because he was out of there anyways.

It's the difference between murder and manslaughter, so actually, it's a very valid argument.
But there is no lesser charge here. You either tested positive per the standards or you didn't. Anderson Silva set the precedent. And now Jon Jones is using the exact same defense.

ummm no
first off all you are doing is muddleing the waters.
youre talking about a felony criminal offense ie murder or manslaughter.
in both cases the defendent carried out a felony offense.
now to what degree is the question of intent.
there is gray area there.
there could be justifactions for a lesser charge.

when it comes to a failed ped test it doesnt matter the intent.
its simple is the test positive or negative?
that is all that matters.
it is black and white with no gray area imo.
pass or fail.
if you fail the ped test YOU are the one that failed it no gray area.

No, no, no. Just stop.

The two substances aren't even remotely close, and we haven't even heard how Jones ingested the product.

Stopped reading after troll.

Approach the disagreement in a respectful way if you expect a response.

Did not knowingly take any?

Trainers can just slip all kinds of shit in their fighters supps and it's perfectly fine because the fighter didn't know
