we can find bad things about every candidate. nearly open borders and signing the TPP? no thanks Gary

yeah, not a fan of that.

I don't think there is a perfect candidate, but I do think there is a major need for a 3rd party to be heard. that is the end goal for me this election.

especially with Trump & Clinton as the major party choices, as neither one cares too much about our personal liberty.

did you watch the vid or just read the title?

sounds like he is talking about being ignorant & changing his views.
Of course I watched it. And I don't buy that bullshit apology in response to his hateful, racist language.

There is zero way to justify calling someone a nigger in modern society, including making a cute point by calling some "white niggers."

again, Trump points to her association with Byrd as signs she's a bigot. all Clinton has to do is point out his work with Civil Rights & the fact the the NAACP supported him & how he reflects the "transformative power" of the country. could be a YUGE backfire if anyone cared. sure, most Trump supporters won't buy it. most probably won't even bother to look up anything on Byrd & just take Trump's word for it. but not all.

she could probably even have some NAACP members do the media parade & talk him up if she wanted.

Never considered voting for Hillary, Johnson as of right now. Trump's disregard for the constitution and our civil liberties is a pretty big red flag for me, along with the hawkish neocons he surrounds himself with. wolf in sheep's clothing IMO, fake anti-establishment candidate.
Participated in filibustering the 1964 Civil Rights Act. He may have came around a few years later by supporting the Civil Rights Act of '68, but still tried to stop gays from getting married and serving in the military well into the 1990s. He is far from some model civil rights activist. Not to mention being a former KKK member. If Trump was associated with someone with this record, the mainstream media would be salivating to bash him for it.

The NAACP will give kudos to anyone who supports their agenda, even if its for a limited amount of time. They gave Fred Phelps an award for his previous civil rights work as a lawyer even after he was disbarred and preaching hate against gays in churches lol.

what about Trump's policies on personal liberties don't you like? the one that comes to mind is making a "list" of people associated with terror who cant buy guns which I believe he said

do you believe him? all the stuff i've read I don't
about as much as I believe Trump or Hillary.

still not the point. he does have a record of fighting for Civil Rights after 64 that she can point to. much better (& honest) than Trump acting like he didn't even know who David Duke was IMO.

what about Hillary saying Trump supporters are racists, bigots, etc? That's ~50% of the population

and Trump later changed that he doesn't support Duke. just like Byrd "changed". really it sounds like you're trying to find the smallest flaws in Trump here when you can find a lot bigger ones.

warrantless searches & seizures.
closing up the internet
calling the freedom of speech "foolish"
"unprecedented measures" in security that "people won't be happy about".
going after the media for pieces he doesn't like ("opening up libel laws" or threatening WaPo through Amazon).
Snowden is a traitor & should be executed.
his wanting to reauthorize Sec 215 of the Patriot Act.
taking out terrorist's families.

off the top of my head, give me a minute I know there is more...

ah, but he first said he didn't even know who David Duke was (in typical Trump fashion). guy can't tell even a harmless truth sometimes.

sorry, I don't think 50% of the population is behind Trump. not even close.

my bad, that sounded dickish. didn't mean it that way.

that vid is another example of Byrd explaining how he was ignorant & how his mama helped him realize the way again. learn from our mistakes, can't go to heaven if you hate anybody, etc. you & I might not believe it, but on the surface it doesn't really prove anything unless Hillary praised his KKK days. could be a backfire if she praised his transformation.

re: nigger, he says "there are white niggers, I've seen a lot of white niggers in my time if you want to use that word.."

I see it used as more of a derogatory word than racist. could be wrong, but isn't a nigger by definition someone who is used by society?

anyway, there isn't really any more reason to defend this guy (or Hillary), just thought it was another miss by Trump. he could have brought attn to her association with him & she could have responded by pointing out the NAACP's love for him & his championing of civil rights later in life (as far as I know, she hasn't). I think most would accept that, even in light of his KKK association over 70 years ago (which he strongly renounced).

Hilarious, drove by a spicy Hawaiian election sign today...

made me laugh, being a Republican in Hawaii is like having a vagina and being in proximity to Bill Clinton...
