After 22 years of marriage, the MMA legend has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife.

It looks like Royce Gracie is about to be single for the first time in 22 years. TMZ Sports reports that divorce filings were registered in Los Angeles County Superior Court for Royce and his wife Marianne Cuttic, a Los Angeles area podiatrist. The original face of the UFC and most visible representative of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the U.S. has four children with his soon-to-be ex-wife.

The report says that the former UFC star and current Bellator fighter is citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce. In addition, the 49-year-old Gracie is both demanding that his wife not only cover the legal fees, but also spousal support. He is also requesting joint physical/legal custody…

I remember how much I used to admire Royce, but after the juicing, tax fraud, etc, I have no respect left.

I truly appreciate how he brought BJJ to the masses, but Royce doesn't seem like a very good human being.

From what I've read, he's being not so nice and then trying to squeeze her for every penny.......must look into it more, but this is what I read into it.

I'm no Royce apologist, he's a good guy... Just (like anyone else) has been prone to do dumb things. Yes he brought BJJ to the public view and helped jump start MMA (countless MMA AND BJJ competitors say how he influenced them to start their training and careers), but he's still just a guy.

I've spent time with him and trained with him, and he's been completely awesome always (didn't have to ask me to train or truly even talk to me). I see these types of things and it sucks.... The PED stuff, the Tax stuff, now this.... It sucks, but at the end of the day, he's just a guy who is allowed to make dumb mistakes AND can choke the hell out of us

Why would he need spousal support, can't he do seminars across the globe and make a decent living?

Divorce sucks. Sad for him.

But what's so bad about seeking spousal support? If he made a lot at one point and put it into their home and/business ventures and she's doing well now, maybe he wants recompense.

Still, divorcing at 49 is awful. If he's flying the coop with the latest like others in the family, this gets sketchier.

With this who "equality of genders" movement shit going on(especially in the USA), I usually come with a snarky remark, but I still can't wrap my head around a guy wanting his ex to support him. It just seems so beta.

Wasn't the Gracie family rich even before the ufc? This dude has probably made tons of money fighting, seminars as well among other Things. Yet he still wants to be supported? Idk.

Anyone with details as to why he thinks he should support his rich ass, I'd like to hear.

There is a picture out there that was taken Bravo's second grappling match with Royler. Bravo is throwing up, while Royce stands menacingly over him looking like an asshole.
Ok i remember that. Didnt they exchange words too?

Divorce sucks for all parties, but what Royce is doing is some real Kalib Starnes shenanigans.

Agree, it sucks to say that because I was lucky enough to see Royce work his magic back at the old McNicohls Sports Arena ....he was the ultimate fan favorite, the underdog, the guy everyone wished would win but deep down didnt think had a chance ...yet he pulled it off!

He had all the fan support, he single handily inspired millions of youth - middle aged men across the States by winning UFC 1 by representing the family art of BJJ.

I think Royce would have become an American / World Icon had he just stayed humble and rode off into the sunset after the early UFC's......but Royce isn't humble ..he has a big ego and refused to keep his mouth shut.

So in turn, his true colors came out and he's not the nice guy we all hoped for.

Yes. In douche mode, Royce challenged him to an NHB fight. No grappling. Lol.

That's the most piss poor excuse I've ever heard. If you're actually worried, you see a lawyer, draw up paper work, and you give up nothing. You should also be aware that you don't need to be married to be "married" so yes, some people do have to pay their ex girlfriend money.
