I'm far from a partisan man and I have seen Putin for what he truly is since day 1. I'm from a Russian family that lived under the true totalitarian despotism of the KGB and men like Putin. The war never ended in his mind.

There is no chance of any relationship between him and the West that is not adversarial unless NATO sends him a letter of surrender.

He has spurned the attempts of two previous administrations already, one republican and one democrat.

He's all up in your kitchen and he's cooking eggs.

You have to understand that we are not Republican supporters in this thread. Most have a total disdain for Romney.

Does that mean we should continue a game of brinkmanship in proxy wars? Should we institute policies that are intentionally inflammatory like no fly zones where we either weaker our position or start a war killing Russian pilots?

There is a position between "let's continue antagonizing Russia as they are doing" and "Russia can be best friends with us!!"

I don't see anyone antagonizing Russia. If anything it's the opposite.

Every time the West has extended good will and intentions to him he has taken it and wiped his ass with it.

He is an entirely different beast from Saddam and Ghadafi.

He has a chip on his shoulder and will always be trying to outmaneuver the West and reclaim an imagined Soviet glory.

Putin will keep pushing until pushed back. He huffed and puffed when Turkey shot down his plane but he did nothing.

His goal is subversion not confrontation. There is nothing short of returning the former Soviet republics and letting him run amok that will appease him.

That's not true. On the 1 year anniversary Russian planes accidentally hit Turkish soldiers with an airstrike.

James Comey has denied Obama asked for a wiretap. There is no evidence, that I've seen, that Obama was in anyway involved. They're making baseless counter claims to muddy the waters.

Comey lost all of his credibility when he detailed all of Hillary's crimes, then remarked that the crime wasn't worth prosecuting. He's team Clinton.

Contrary to earlier reporting in the New York Times, which cited FBI sources as saying that the agency did not believe that the private server in Donald Trump’s Trump Tower which was connected to a Russian bank had any nefarious purpose, the FBI’s counter-intelligence arm, sources say, re-drew an earlier FISA court request around possible financial and banking offenses related to the server. The first request, which, sources say, named Trump, was denied back in June, but the second was drawn more narrowly and was granted in October after evidence was presented of a server, possibly related to the Trump campaign, and its alleged links to two banks; SVB Bank and Russia’s Alfa Bank. While the Times story speaks of metadata, sources suggest that a FISA warrant was granted to look at the full content of emails and other related documents that may concern US persons.
