It's not so much Jones reach, as it is the pokey fingers at the end of his reach.
Tell that to all of the guys he poked crying at the press conference about them underestimating how strong and talented he was.

strong/talented are not mutually exclusive with dirty/cheater.

if you're a strong and talented dirty cheater, you go far in Dana White's promotion.

You presented eye pokes as more important than his physical gifts. I'm simply disputing that.

I see your point, but I don't.

I do agree that JBJ has a HUGE advantage with his height. That guy is a legit HW pretending to be a LHW. He is enormous for the division, as is Gus.
And how do you feel about DC the actual HW who needs a towel lean to make LHW...?

He's greedy, simple. Look how much fat he is carrying.

Get that man a proper dietician and he'd do 185. He's another Rashad, IMHO.

If Gus was on PEDs and eye-poking, he would have beat Jones.
Firstly, you do not know that Jones was on PEDs at the time of that fight. Actually, if we look at the only evidence that we have, all accounts were that Jones was in the worst shape of his fighting career leading up to that fight. He and other sources close to him both admit that he did minimal training going in, and he wasn't physically ready to fight. We don't know that he wasn't using, but we do know that Gus didn't fight the best Jon that night.

Jones won that fight because of a solid first round and a spinning elbow in the 4th. There was not an eye poke that put Gus in the position to eat that elbow. There's a lot of revisionist history that would only apply if there were any fights where Jon was struggling, poked the guy in the eye and had success from then on. I do not believe there to be a situation where that happened. That was his only close fight, and as I pointed out above he didn't win it because of eye pokes. To pretend that eye pokes are a big part of his arsenal is to ignore the fact that aside from Gus he completely overwhelmed every one of his opponents with his size and his skill.

Jones extended his fingers in to Gus's eyes during the fight. He used eye pokes. He fought dirty. He's a dirty fighter.
Jones was busted for PEDs. Jones had an exceptionally low T/E ratio after UFC 182. Jones brother was busted for PEDs. Jon Jones has used PEDs.

Jon Jones is a dirty fighter who cheats before the fight, and during the fight. These are facts that are not in dispute.
You can argue in the margins about "how much" he benefits from the fact that he is a cheater, but he is a cheater.

and a poor human being, but that's only tangentially related to the fact that he's a dirty fighter who uses PEDs.

Regarding PEDs, you still have presented zero even hearsay evidence that he cheated for the Gus fight. You're assuming.

Regarding eye pokes, I'm not disputing that it happens. I think it is downright ridiculous to attribute him winning to them, though, and I have already explained why.

Please point out the most egregious instance where he poked his opponent in the eye and he won the fight because of it. I'll watch the fight tonight, and report back with my honest opinion. If I saw some real evidence that it literally won him fights I'd like to think I wouldn't be disputing it, though we are all susceptible to bias. I want to actually understand the argument here so I will be honest.

Also technically, they aren't facts at all. I don't exactly buy the dick pill excuse myself, but to say that it's a "fact" that he intentionally cheated and not an assumption (justified or not) is to ignore the actual definition of the word fact. Same with the eye pokes. It's not a fact because it isn't proven. It's an assumption.

He pokes people in the eyes, that's a fact. To pretend that we know his intentions is an assumption.
He tested positive, that's a fact. USADA indicated in the ruling that they do not believe that he is a "steroid cheat". I am not saying USADA is right. I am saying that assuming they're wrong is just that- an assumption that we cannot call a fact or say that it's "not in dispute".

He took PEDs. He gave diluted sample (requiring an additional test) and had T/E ratios that were both abnormally low in magnitude and abnormally high in variance. Regardless, he broke the rules by consuming prohibited substances. Intention is, at best, a mitigating factor.

Again - you're arguing that that he cheats, but not enough to make a difference.

Cheating is the difference.

I'm not arguing whether or not he cheats. I am basing this on what we know to be true, while pointing out the fact that you're assuming a lot here.

I'm not assuming anything. He poked Gus in the eyes. That's dirty.

He took PEDs. That's cheating.

Hence, he is a dirty-fighting cheater.

pokes change fights

if you don't see it that way then you don't know combat sports.

The fact is that when a poke occurs you cannot know how much it changes a fight...you cannot know how much it hurts/changes the Poked Fighter.

That is on the Fighter who pokes...they don't give the opportunity to view a poke free fight....so simple...It is on the violator

Name "Goat" of a combat sport with numerous Fouls and Failed tests to his name? You back the wrong horse my friend.

As I pointed out before, saying that he took PEDs is an assumption, not a fact. He may have, and I don't really buy his excuse but I don't present my opinion as fact.

A lot of people poke a lot of people in the eyes. He's at a minimum reckless, but we do not know that he's intentionally cheating. Another assumption.

I'm getting technical here but you aren't stating facts at all.

Please point out the most egregious foul. I want to see it for myself.
