https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/05/business/economy/jobs-report-unemployment.html

• An impressive 211,000 jobs were added last month, bringing the three-month average up to 174,000.

• The unemployment rate was 4.4 percent, down from 4.5 percent in March and the lowest rate in more than 10 years.

• The average hourly wage grew by 0.3 percent, though year-over-year growth ticked down to 2.5 percent.

• The broadest measure of unemployment, which includes people who are working part time or have dropped out of the labor market, was down sharply, to 8.6 percent, from 8.9 percent.
Good work by Obama.

Employment rates are a lagging indicator and reflect where the economy was roughly a year ago.

I'll give you the top 5 but that's it.

La Paix @BirdWatcher is in spot 1, he sent me presents! And I still owe him a nice gesture. (Not sex Kelly, you momo...that's what spots 2 and 3 are for  )

Shinkicker @Shinkicker and gangsterkathryn @gangsterkathryn are in spots 2&3 because they have vaginas and are witty. I have the documents...Wood!

Splinty @Splinty is 4 because he might give me free healthcare if I buy him enough beers and boiled steaks.

And of course my man Freeloading Rusty @MC Gusto rounding out the top 5 because im sure I can turn him into a supporter of MAGA.

Unfortunately for y'all, you and Wild @Wild are very far removed from the top 5 due to liking the eagles and riding around in Miatas together. I just can't get with that, I'm sorry.

My lists are fluid though, if I see a change for the better in your attitude toward the eagles, you may one day have the honor of occupying one of the top 5 spots...unlikely though.

And don't hate on my Miata bro

It's stylish AND fuel efficient

Thank heavens they are finally getting to the bottom of it.
that's what I love about the media, they have a dogged determination to get to the heart of the matter whenever a democrat isn't in office, it's only a matter of time before they discover that civilians are sometimes killed in drone strikes & start asking some hard questions

Trump team to Trudeau team: Softwood lumber threats 'inappropriate'
The Trump administration says it won't be pressured by trade threats from the Canadian government, responding Saturday to a warning that the northern neighbour could start targeting American industries in the event of a protracted dispute over softwood lumber.

The administration's commerce secretary issued a statement calling the threats inappropriate, and insisting they would have no effect on the U.S.'s course of action in the lumber dispute.
The Canadian government now says it wants a long-term settlement — or else. It's preparing to target specific industries in the U.S., to put pressure on those Americans backing a hard line on lumber.

Government sources have told The Canadian Press they are weighing two separate actions.

The first was revealed Friday by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. He sent a letter to the premier of B.C., announcing he was seriously considering banning U.S. coal exports from that province and that trade experts were studying it.

Sources say the next step targets the state of Oregon.

The federal government has begun studying all business subsidies in that state, home to Democratic Senator Ron Wyden. Following that, the Canada Border Services Agency could examine duties on Oregon's plywood, wine, flooring, wood chips and packaging materials.

Ross brushed aside the threat.

"The decision to impose tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber was based on the facts presented, not on political considerations," he said in a statement. "If any Canadian or British Columbian official wishes to present additional information (about lumber), we will consider it carefully and impartially...

"Threats of retaliatory action are inappropriate and will not influence any final determinations. We continue to believe that a negotiated settlement is in the best interests of all parties, and we are prepared to work toward that end."

Last thing we need here in BC is a trade war with America but if Oregon is subsidizing numerous wood manufacturing products being shipped north, no reason we shouldnt follow suit to the soft wood lumber tariffs and impose tariffs of our own. As for the dirty coal, Clark states she has been planning this for a while, but who knows, she is a slippery snake.

Kurt was a dumb pos during the election. My first introduction to him. Still, every Trump voter should feel shame over every death it causes.

Every innocent death is tragic I'd hope we all would agree. Show me one legitimate study or stats how many lives obamacare saved from death vs pre obamacare...not how many people were added to the healthcare pool, but lives saved.

I hope every Obama voter feels shame over how many Innocents he murdered with his authorized drone strikes, as a one-time Obama voter, I know I do...See how silly that is?

No, they should. It's that attitude of not caring about lives that aren't American which destroys the U.S. reputation abroad.

I agree with that. But, to claim Americans who voted for Trump over Clinton value human life less is naïve at best and down right idiotic otherwise. Clinton had blood on her hands from long before the November elections. Those were the two choices we had. I bet you wouldn't be making statements like these had Killary won.

I am aware of that, and we'll let you know when we care what your glorious Germany thinks of our politics. Until we do, pipe down sunshine...me and Zeph @Zeph were having a nice discussion.

I was critical of Clinton before the election. Don't know why I would change afterwards. Anyone who deserves criticism should receive it. In this case Trump and the Republicans deserve a lot. I'd be ashamed if I voted for him and this is what they are doing.
