I agree. The interim belt is a nice way of letting someone else make some dough in the current system, but the whole pay system needs overhauling anyway.I think that interm belts should be stopped. If it's a number one contender match then have it written into the contract that the winner gets the next shot. No more begging Dana like a dog in the ring and if the UFC goes back on their word there will be legal ramifications.
I agree, but I also agree with @nuraknu saying that it'll be weird for Bisping to fight GSP in November while somebody has had the interim belt for months. If Bisping isn't ready to fight then an Interim title is the right thing to do. I think I would put Mousasi in rather than Whittacker, atm.
I really don't think the Interim titles mean much other than to keep fighters happy, and sell a few extra PPV's since a belt is on the line.I agree, but I also agree with @nuraknu saying that it'll be weird for Bisping to fight GSP in November while somebody has had the interim belt for months.
That's how they've been treated, but we both know there's a distinction between how they're treated and what they should actually mean.I really don't think the Interim titles mean much other than to keep fighters happy, and sell a few extra PPV's since a belt is on the line.
Honestly, I don't think they've been treated badly. I think the reaction has been silly for the most part. That's how they've been treated, but we both know there's a distinction between how they're treated and what they should actually mean.
Fair enough.Honestly, I don't think they've been treated badly. I think the reaction has been silly for the most part.
i agree with you Interim belts aka number 1 contender belts have lost their steam. If the champ cant go by a certain date they need to be striped of the title, if they are that good, when they return shouldnt be hard to regain the belt.I think that interm belts should be stopped.
