They ain't going to do shit with the Irish guy. That's y it's fucked up cuz they just bully the little guy.Or they could crucify the Irish guy over a bonfire and make him defend his belt against a dominant wrestler.

Well, and he shouldn't. That is why the fight is fair only if TJ agrees to meet him at DJ's weight. And from what I gather he is willing to do so. DJ has the upper hand here, and his best chance at gaining respect in a fair way. It would be good for him. Especially with Cody willing to fight TJ, that would be a massive setup for that fight. He doesn't have the personality so he is one of those fighters that needs to talk with the hands. But he needs to start taking chances or not talk PPV points ever.No you cant blame TJ but DJ is the champion, he cant go an eat at 24 hour buffets just to get to a weight to be respected. Dana is a piece of shit and shouldn't be trying to influence any fight
That's the strongest argument for y this is ok. But no one was bullied in that scenario and Edgar was planning a permanent move to fw (his natural weight) which they're planning to build and he'd be a great addition. Isn't TJ's deal just for this one time?People have been saying he doesn't deserve it because he hasn;t fought in that division, but forgot how Edgar got his title shot with Aldo.
I see it as a chicken-egg question. Is DJ chicken, or is Egg just a dipshit?I get that. But I wouldn't complain while being in the lower weight-classes, and nobody wants to watch you. That they don't pull viewership has been established. He should not blame anyone else but life for that one.
Listening to DJ on the MMAhour really opened the curtain on things.I see it has a chicken-egg question. Is DJ chicken, or is Egg just a dipshit?
jokes aside, they've never promoted the lighter weight classes. Maybe they never drew before, but now you have a dominant champ that puts on exciting fights and is a straight-up Finisher. If you can't at least put the effort in to promoting that guy, Egg & Company should stop pissing around and close the division.
for real, when was the last time you were excited to see MM defend his belt? the dodson rematch? that was four title defenses ago. MM vs TJ was a fight i was excited to see, for once lol, and DJ doesn't want any part of itMM is in a shitty position, no doubt. He is very talented, but the UFC and most fans don't seem to care(me included). Flyweight is too small and the talent pool too shallow. This gives him zero leverage, which has to make him so frustrated. What's your next step when you tell the boss your demands and he basically says 'shut up and do what you are told or we'll shut down the whole division"?
Well. I guess your next step is the OP. I guess I have to admire him for finally putting everything on the line. He truly is a cornered rodent, fighting for his professional life. I don't think he will win here, but I don't think he had much choice either.
all MM's personal reasons and the ufc bs aside,So he is ducking TJ out of principle?
Exactly, a business move if anything else. Plenty of fighters that don't get the push but do a lot better on self-promotion. Derrick Lewis anyone? I don't care who he fights, I want to see it. MM has market oppertunities, but unfortunately not pushed by UFC brass. But that doesn't make him the one and only that ever happened to. Aldo anyone?all MM's personal reasons and the ufc bs aside,
he mentions that the UFC want to push TJ ... also that DJ would only get PPV points for his one next fight ... and that when he ususally fights someone there is too little promotion ... but the UFC wants to push TJ - hmmmmm.... if MM wanted to make some bigger waves and fight the fight that's the biggest one for him, wouldn't the TJ-fight make more sense purely from that standpoint?
It could easily happen if they'll guarantee his full pay plus TJs if TJ misses weight. If the UFC believes that he can make weight this isn't a gamble but they won't pay so who's fault is this shit?Exactly, a business move if anything else. I think the TJ fight would be a hell of a fight to watch, they are both so well rounded. But alas.
I would think not since it is for the title. If it is not for the title, then still a great oppertunity for DJ. Let's establish though that right now, Borg looks like the easier option for DJ.That's the strongest argument for y this is ok. THat's where the part of taking chances comes in. DJ fights right now to make a record, or he fights for his legacy. Tough spot, but I think that comes close to reality as is.It could easily happen if they'll guarantee his full pay plus TJs if TJ misses weight. him saying "we want pay per view points for future flyweight fights" made me think he wasn't getting pay per view points at all, and they offered him them as an incentive to fight ray borg. (I could be wrong, it just sounded that way to me from the context)"I wanted a reason for not being allowed any future ppv points Sean Shelby called and told us how smaller fighters don’t sell, that UFC can’t make stars of anyone, and that a fight between Cody and I wouldn’t be a sellable fight. "
MM vs Cody would be outfuckinstanding.
His willingness to take Cody (as sitting 135 champ) makes everything else he ways "congruent" if true.
I think he outright stated he's never gotten PPV points, ever. No time to check it right now, tho.him saying "we want pay per view points for future flyweight fights" made me think he wasn't getting pay per view points at all, and they offered him them as an incentive to fight ray borg. he did talk shit about conr gng to boxing fucking up that division on The MMA HourFinally DJ calls Dana out. The Diaz brothers did it. Connor did it. That's how you get paid. Make that fucker stroke checks for your talent. What's he going to do? Let more talent walk to Bellator? DJ should join the Money Team, & start talking shit about Connor running to boxing. Stir some shit up.
i posted in this one, so this is the Thread of Record on the subject. There are multiple threads in this, confuscioused as to which to post in
But y? TJ's not marketable anymore than DJ. They are when they are fighting each other but TJ is not marketable by himself at all.My take on the situation!
