She was captured a little while ago but the capture video is now making the rounds

Teenager wants to get away from the ‘weapons and noise’


She was from a town of only about 8000 people




How strange. Quaint little German town. Suddenly speaking arabic, wearing robes, flies to Turkey after social media conversations with ISIS, and gets shot fighting with ISIS.

Its highly unlikely she'd be executed of course. But does a 16 year old have dramatically different culpability than an 18 or 19 year old joining a war? Many are calling to just hand her back to Germany no harm, no foul.

Not if she was mature enough to make the decision to convert to Islam, fly to Turkey, sneak into Syria, and marry an ISIS fighter.

She might get sent back if Germany is willing/able to get the US to put pressure on the Iraqi government.

But no harm/no foul? I doubt it. The Iraqi government doesn't need that kind of backlash when it still hasn't completely eradicated ISIS from Iraqi territory.

If she were American I think she would almost definitely get sent back and probably get a 20-30 year federal prison sentence.

I agree with you but I wonder what kind of treatment she was put through during her time with Isis?

It says her husband died right after the wedding so I am curious what happened to her after that? If she wants to get away I imagine it wasn't a romance novel of an experience.

we don't know the full narrative, she may have been abused at home etc, no idea, but either way, she will need to take responsibility for her actions, which i assume or i would hope be prison for 10+ years.

But, it's amazing how far an 'innocent' & 'stupid' girl narrative will go in swaying a reduced sentence in court.

Well there's a news story here about a naive teenage girl who convinced her family to join ISIS a because they promise free healthcare and education etc and now she's trapped. Dumb cunt.

This goes to the islamization of radicalism argument.
Perhaps in the 1960s she would have traveled to join the weather underground or some communist movement.

[Teen] rebellion, a cause against "the man", justice, etc. These are the themes always used in radicalized movements. Then you're in too far.

It doesn't excuse it anymore than those bombing on behalf of the earth liberation front, but it is a common strain that might explain the teen interest.

Well she's in the north if she got got in mosul. They are nowhere near as savage as the caliphate. They fucking hate isis tho. The Kurds are trying to declare themselves as a nation once all this isis shit is done so maybe she will get lucky and receive some mercy. Personally I view her as isis. We have no idea what she was up to before isis started to get thier asses kicked.

It takes some commitment to travel all that way, knowing you are about to support an evil movement.
