North Korea fast tracks to nukes
It's assumed that they are doing it for aide (versus now, they say its for security)

Clinton needs them to chill out but doesn't believe the regime will last. It will probably fall from internal pressure after isolation was the wisdom.

USA GOP says fuck these dudes, we aren't appeasing them. They create nukes and we buy in, we'll have 50 more doing the same threat.

Clinton is pressured at home to calm this without appeasement. In comes the IAEA agreement. True nuclear disarmament and you get some rice, some reactors that can't nuke us, and some oil. Hans Blix, later of "give us more time for Iraq" fame, said the N Koreans weren't letting the inspections happen. 2 years later, still not. So the GOP is like fuck these guys. Clinton has to use some accounting tactics to get money to send oil and what not to Daddy Un.
Still the IAEA complains Hans can't get his Hans Hands on those weapons.
GW Bush rolls in Texan style and calls them part of the axis of evil.
N Korea has been lobbing bigger missile and bigger nukes ever since then.

And here we are. Since 1992 and before.

But a good go was given by Clinton. Humbled ourselves, gave in, send the oil, food, reactors...

So that's off the table now. It didn't work.
Thank you sir
That's pretty much how I remember this and I lived there during that time!

Just when I was there in Korea, a north korean mini sub ran aground with its commandos. There was like a manhunt that lasted a month with most of the crew getting executed by their commando mates, because, they fucked up (!) and the rest killed by the South Korean army.
Also a NK mig-15 pilot defected with his plane. You should have seen this sight in the sky : jets were scrambled and flying all over the sky.

Also saw a squadron of US choppers that looked like Apaches. Talk about death from above. It's quite a sight.

Pretty sure he already had a red line........Pretty sure NK already crossed it:

Quick research - Yep:
July 4th & mocked the US "American Bastards" lol: Kim Jong-un says new missile is 'gift' to 'American b******s' from North Korea on Independence Day
July 4th: Trump warning - 'END THIS NONSENSE!' Donald Trump fires back at North Korea's latest missile launch

NKs response? LOL:
July 28th Trump condemns North Korea long-range missile launch - CNNPolitics

So they get another red line.... smh.
You really are a pathetic person. Your overall hate in general for all things is seeping out of your pores lol. You would be the first loud mouth if Trump actually did something so STFU.

Most likely.
Look, the north has committed several acts of agression towards the south ever since the truce (no peace treaty has been signed), the south is prepared for conventional agression...
however let this sink :
Seoul has like 10 million people. Just roughly maybe 50 kilometres away from the border. Well within missile and artillery range. It'd be super hard and slow to evacuate that many people quickly if a conflict with a possibility of a nuclear strike were to happen. There'd be a huge number of casualties, Seoul would likely be flatten.
I understand your point but 50 years of mandatory service is an act of aggression in itself.

If this thread is indicative of how humans with different viewpoints and opinions get along, we're fucked.

I'm gonna fast track my nuclear bunker construction. That god I played fallout a lot, I'm ready for this!

I could do without Trump's nuclear comments. That's not the answer here.

I realize - or at least I hope - it's just saber rattling because that's the only language North Korea understands, but throwing that out there in such a brash way to the entire world is unsettling.

Hopefully they are just playing good cop, bad cop. Or in this case crazy cop, sane cop.

I assume the rhetoric is to get China's attention and to more forcefully encourage them to influence North Korea. The prospect of war in their backyard can't be a pleasant idea.

But if war does happen just remember, guys, don't bother collecting cans. They will be just about useless in the wasteland. Good luck out there. Maybe we need a tmmac signal so we don't shoot each other.

doesnt sound they were playing anything, sounds like trump decided to go fullretard off the cuff and then most likely kelly got on the phone and told tillerson and mattis to clean things up.
