You know what would really be a protest and not some joke. If the players DIDNT PLAY AND GAVE BACK THEIR CHECKS. That would be a real protest that would actually have some merit. This is a joke and will go away soon and will be forgotten. Its funny to me that even with protests you are still not really protesting but just making some noise. Real protesting wouldnt happen because it would mean some of these players might not be able to go buy their 5th car or their 30th gold chain, or cheat on their 4th wife, or beat up their girlfriend and get away with it.

North Korea Says Trump's Tweet Gives It The Right To Shoot Down US Bombers
North Korea's foreign minister declared on Monday that the United States had declared war on his country — a declaration that came in the form of a presidential tweet.

Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, speaking outside a hotel near the United Nations before an assembled crowd of journalists, said that President Donald Trump's Saturday night tweet would not go unanswered.

"The UN charter stipulates individual member states’ rights to self-defense," Ri said. "Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make countermeasures including the right to shoot down the United States’ strategic bombers even when they’re not yet inside the airspace border of our country."

On Saturday, ahead of Ri's speech at the UN General Assembly, US Air Force B-1B bombers flew along North Korea's east coast, escorted by fighter jets. Though still over international waters, the flight was further north of the DMZ than any US military flight has gone in the since the end of the 20th century, the Pentagon said.

"This mission is a demonstration of US resolve and a clear message that the president has many military options to defeat any threat," Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White told Reuters, calling North Korea’s weapons program "a grave threat."

"'President Evil' is holding the seat of the US president," Ri said during his speech, warning that Pyongyang was ready to defend itself if the United States showed any sign of conducting a "decapitating operation on our headquarters or military attack against our country."

President Trump fired back on Twitter later that evening, repeating his earlier taunt of calling North Korean leader Kim Jong Un "Rocket Man," and warning that if the North Koreans continue on their current path, "they won't be around much longer."

White House: U.S. Hasn’t ‘Declared War’ On North Korea
White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders says the U.S. hasn’t “declared war” on North Korea.

The Trump administration also clarified Monday that it is not seeking to overthrow North Korea’s government after the president tweeted that Kim Jong Un “won’t be around much longer.”

North Korea’s top diplomat responded to that Monday at the U.N., telling reporters it was a declaration of war against his country by the United States, and that the North has the right to shoot down U.S. warplanes in international airspace.

Trump said in a speech last week to the U.N. General Assembly that if the U.S. is forced to defend itself against North Korea, “we will have no choice but to totally destroy” the country.

The U.S. and North Korea agreed to an armistice after the 1950-1953 Korean War, not a peace treaty. Because of that, they are still technically at war.

EMAILS SHOW IVANKA TRUMP USED PERSONAL EMAIL ACCOUNT AT WHITE HOUSE
Emails obtained by American Oversight via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request show that Ivanka Trump used a personal email address to conduct substantive government work as late as March 2017.

Emails released by the Small Business Administration (SBA) show Ms. Trump directly emailed SBA Administrator Linda McMahon on February 28th using a private address to discuss her initiative on women’s entrepreneurship. The emails show that Ms. Trump – then an all-but-official advisor to the president who regularly attended high-level meetings and had an office in the West Wing – also had a White House-funded Chief of Staff.

The emails were provided to American Oversight by the SBA on June 20, 2017 in response to a FOIA request submitted by the watchdog group in March seeking documents related to Ms. Trump’s role in the administration. Additional documents we received from the Department of Labor show Ms. Trump’s personal staff arranging meeting with top officials.

Statement from American Oversight Executive Director Austin Evers:

“Yet again we see that there’s one rule for the Trump family and another for everyone else. It’s simply breathtaking that both Ivanka and Jared Kushner would conduct government on a personal email account after running a campaign centered on that very issue. The fact that they would brazenly ignore rules governing email use raises even more questions about their judgement and fitness to hold positions in the White House.”

Democrat Elijah Cummings begins probe into Jared Kushner's private emails
The lead Democrat of the House's oversight committee has launched an investigation into Trump adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner's use of a private email address to conduct White House business.

In a letter, Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland asked Kushner to "preserve all official records and copies of records in your custody or control."

He also asked that Kushner provide email addresses for all of private accounts used to conduct business, a list of all emails sent or received on those accounts that conducted official business and information about the security of the private domain used by Kushner and his wife, Ivanka Trump.

Cummings' letter comes after reports revealed that Kushner had created a private email address during the transition. According to his lawyer, fewer than 100 exchanges were made using the address from January to August.

Kushner may not have been alone in the practice. At least six of President Trump’s closest advisers occasionally used private email addresses to discuss White House matters, according to the New York Times, which cited current and former officials.

Officials are supposed to use government emails for their official duties so their conversations are available to the public and those conducting oversight. But it is not illegal for White House officials to use private email accounts as long as they forward work-related messages to their work accounts so they can be preserved, The Times reported.

Cummings didn't dive into how outraged he was over the revelations.

Instead, he pointed to the shock of congressional Republicans in years past, when they were angry about Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while she was secretary of State. He quoted Rep. Trey Gowdy's letter: "The public has a right to access public records. The public has a right to certainty that no classified or sensitive information was placed at risk of compromise."

He also noted that the White House had previously told him there were no senior officials who had multiple accounts. Executive branch officials would be covered by the Presidential Records Act, which requires the preservation of records.

"This statement appears to be inaccurate, although it is possible that Mr. (Marc) Short was referring to senior officials with multiple official government email accounts and that he did not know about your personal email account at the time he wrote this letter to the committee," he wrote.

At Least 6 White House Advisers Used Private Email Accounts
At least six of President Trump’s closest advisers occasionally used private email addresses to discuss White House matters, current and former officials said on Monday.

The disclosures came a day after news surfaced that Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and adviser, used a private email account to send or receive about 100 work-related emails during the administration’s first seven months. But Mr. Kushner was not alone. Stephen K. Bannon, the former chief White House strategist, and Reince Priebus, the former chief of staff, also occasionally used private email addresses. Other advisers, including Gary D. Cohn and Stephen Miller, sent or received at least a few emails on personal accounts, officials said.

Ivanka Trump, the president’s elder daughter, who is married to Mr. Kushner, used a private account when she acted as an unpaid adviser in the first months of the administration, Newsweek reported Monday. Administration officials acknowledged that she also occasionally did so when she formally became a White House adviser. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter with reporters.

During the 2016 presidential race, Mr. Trump repeatedly harped on Hillary Clinton’s use of a private account as secretary of state, making it a centerpiece of his campaign and using it to paint her as untrustworthy. “We must not let her take her criminal scheme into the Oval Office,” Mr. Trump said last year. His campaign rallies often boiled over with chants of “Lock her up!”

Because of the nature of these "protests". We want to be seen to be caring but doing anything about it? That is the equivalent of taking a knee. The audience there? check, now let's show everybody how much you care. Much like bumper stickers that let everybody know one's supporting the troops, in whatever which form that is. Not going on that field out of protest, that is activism. Taking a knee to raise this so called awareness and to then earn your check, not so much. Slactivism. Virtue signaling.

It's been a while since I've read the speech. Tell me, did he have a line in it about being able to attack cops with impunity?

I have a dream today that my four children will live in a world where they don't have to comply with police! Where they can destroy their own neighbourhoods and loot themselves a fresh pair of Nikes whenever they may get angry!

Was that a line in his speech? I don't remember. :D

Your confusing complying with laws and complying with police, which are two different things. He didn't comply with what he deemed as "unjust laws", but he never tried to fight with a police officer.
