Makes me somewhat happy in a shitty situation
He was a professional gambler. Made his income that way and did very well for himself. I’m not sure if that was a motive. He was too good with numbers and money to lose it all in one place.

Looking in twitter and FB, I really hate the assumptions people are making. Not because they’re insulting him (I could care less about that) but everyone is getting it so wrong. He wasn’t Muslim. He wasn’t liberal. He wasn’t a trumpite really (not that I can recall anyway).
Sorry for not being more detailed. Trying to not make assumptions here. Just relating what I knew about the guy to keep the dialog at least mildly accurate.
All I truly know is that I feel awful right now and no amount of fighting over gun laws, political views, or speculations about what happened will bring those folks back to their families. Truly a sad day for everyone involved.

People always try to fit tragic events into a category that supports their world views. Nothing new there.

I know but it’s a different feeling when it happens so close to home (ie within the family).
They're disgusting vultures. When I started seeing this news here and on social media, I didn't even turn the TV over to the news because I didn't want to watch reporters preying on people for 'news'.
I wouldn't speak with the media at all.
Within 15 minutes of the shooting, I saw multiple (like 20+) tweets accusing some "white supremacist neo nazi' named Sam Hyde of this. Obviously no one knew shit that soon after the attack took place, but that didn't stop people from trying to further an agenda, and divide the country further. It's disgusting.
It happens on both sides my friend. I’ve already seen folks talking about how he was a crazy left wing antifa sympathizer and if you knew that guy you would know it’s as far from the truth as could be.
Moral of the story, don’t believe any story that hasn’t come from the LVMPD directly at this point. Everyone else is making assumptions.

@IschKabibble I would refuse all statements sans a single written one, if you feel so inclined, expressing your empathy for those harmed. All further details will need to come from LVPD. Do not talk to them. Media won't change the investigation and the news cycle isn't built such that your input will increase healing and empathy.
