when you outlaw assault rifles, only machinists will have assault rifles.
Pre-86 ARs are only slightly less expensive than an actual M16.
I have a friend in Oregon who 'makes' automatic weapons by modifying legal semi-autos (he has a Class III), but even he doesn't do AR select-fire mods. Just AKs, HKs, and other rifles.
you have to have a pre-86 AR, and then you can do some machining to accept the select-fire trigger group.Tracking. Again, I'm not in the market these days but 3 years ago all of this was available with ease on ar15.com and could be purchased and pieced together in a way to be done in minutes or hours. Modified lowers, old colt auto lowers, drop in sears, lightning links you just pop out of aluminium templates, etc.
I'd be shocked if its that much harder to come by because my google found the kit instead of the lowers.
