We’re ok. The FIL is in Vegas trying to make arrangments for the ashes and figure out how to get all of the assets into a trust for the victims and their families. The shock is slowly wearing off and we’re trying to resume a semblance of normalcy after all of this.
I hope the reporters don't give him a hard time while he's there

With that said, it’s also a very unique range of emotions one goes through when being related to something like this. When we’re in public we feel like we have a dirty secret. When we’re alone we feel isolated and helpless. It’s not just the feeling of losing someone but also we feel for what he did though it was 100% outside our scope of influence or control.

So once the family handles the obvious business (probate lawyers, figuring out the best way to donate the money etc etc) then we can begin to pick up the pieces and start to heal somehow.

He’s supposed to be only talking with one reporter, Jeff German I believe his name is. He promised no more video interviews so that has helped keep some emotions tampered in the family (some were not happy about his rants etc).

I can't even imagine what you all are going thru. Hope people leave you all the hell alone and you can get back to some kind of normalcy soon. Chin up brother.

All things considered the press has been actually rather considerate. When we told them to go away, they left. Even Eric had a deal, he would ramble in front of cameras if they left the rest of the family in Orlando alone. My wife still received a ton of FB messages from reporters and we only had one that I had to close the door in their face but everyone else has respected our privacy rather well.

Law enforcement sources told CBS News that Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddockis believed to have used the freight elevator at the Mandalay Bay hotel casino in the days leading up to last week's deadly attack.

It wasn't clear what Paddock used the freight elevator for or how often he used it.

CBS News senior investigative producer Pat Milton reports authorities were continuing to comb through Paddock's electronic devices — including a laptop and cellphone — at the FBI crime lab in Quantico, Virginia. So far, none of the devices point to a motive for the shooting rampage.

Meanwhile, billboards requesting assistance from the public have delivered a large response with callers offering possible leads and information about Paddock, Milton reports.

The FBI has more than 50 agents and personnel on site assisting Las Vegas police with evidence recovery, interviews and other investigative work.

During a news conference on Monday, authorities made a significant change to the timeline of the mass shooting, saying Paddock shot a hotel security guard before he opened fire on concert-goers.

Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo had previously said the guard was shot after Paddock fired at the country music festival and that the guard's arrival in the hallway on the 32nd floor may have caused Paddock to stop firing.

It was not immediately clear why the timeline of the shooting changed a week later and what the impact could be on the investigation.

Lombardo said security guard Jesus Campos was in a hallway of the hotel responding to a report of an open door when he heard drilling from Paddock's room. Paddock, who had installed three cameras to monitor the approach to his suite, opened fire through the door, spraying 200 shots down the hall and wounding the guard, who alerted other security officials.

A few minutes later, Paddock began raining down bullets for 10 minutes in an attack that killed 58 people -- the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Authorities also said that Paddock targeted aviation fuel tanks, stocked his car with explosives and had personal protection gear as part of an escape plan.

Paddock had power tools and was attempting to drill a hole in an adjacent wall, perhaps to mount another camera or to point a rifle through, but he never completed the work, Lombardo said. He also drilled holes and bolted a metal bar to try to prevent the opening of an emergency exit stairwell door near the door of his room.

Lombardo again expressed frustration with the pace of the investigation, but not with the investigators who have yet to pinpoint the motive behind the shooter's decision to fire on a Las Vegas Strip concert crowd of 22,000 on Oct. 1.

"It's because this individual purposely hid his actions leading up to this event, and it is difficult for us to find the answers to those actions," Lombardo said. "We believe he decided to take the lives he did and he had a very purposeful plan that he carried out."

There is still no evidence that Paddock was motivated by ideology, or that there was another shooter. Investigators have found 200 incidents of Paddock moving through the city, and at no time was he with anyone else, Lombardo said.

Police and FBI agents, including behavioral profilers, still haven't found a particular event in Paddock's life that might have triggered the shooting. The sheriff added that a complete evaluation of Paddock's mental condition was not yet done.

Inside the hotel room, authorities found a note with handwritten calculations about where Paddock needed to aim to maximize his accuracy and kill as many people as possible.

In an interview broadcast Sunday on "60 Minutes," three police officers who stormed Paddock's room told correspondent Bill Whitaker details about the note, which was found on the shooter's nightstand near one of the windows that Paddock had smashed in order to fire onto the crowd below.

The sheriff also confirmed investigators are talking with Paddock's brother Eric Paddock, who traveled to Las Vegas, and continue to speak with the shooter's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, to get insight.

Lombardo declined to reveal what they've said, but he stated, "Every piece of information we get is one more piece of the puzzle."

Eric Paddock said he came to Las Vegas to retrieve his brother's body in hopes of sending the cremated ashes to their 89-year-old mother in Orlando.

Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg said he could not discuss the results of an autopsy done on Paddock, who police said shot himself dead before officers arrived at the hotel suite.

Eric Paddock told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he plans to put his brother's assets in a trust that would benefit the shooting victims.

Law enforcement interviews with Paddock's brother Saturday and Sunday were part of an exhaustive search through the 64-year-old's life.

Another question and I'm just throwing out ideas
Who would have escorted paddack in the service elevator?
Security?

So far the cops have a history in this case of slip ups turning out to be the true story... like the officer being shot 1st
1st video I posted today there is a 2nd slip up where the officer says that security was shot 1st and then corrects himself and says the crowd was fired at 1st
Remember early on the woman who said that she saw security guards chasing a man that was dressed as a security guard?

How come nobody else on the floor heard or reported anything? Why won't they establish a timeline between when the guard was shot, when the call came in (and from whom), and when police arrived?
This is the one thing that I can't get over. There is no way that not one single guest of the Mandalay Bay didn't hear the shooting from either the 32nd floor, or the 31st floor. There's just no way.

There was a dirt mound that a fake scientist claims is involved. Although, he isn't sure the dirt mound still exists. It's a phantom dirt mound.

all the people who got their phones back from FBI are saying they were wiped clean

all videos/messages/phone calls wiped clean away

Some woman who posted a detailed account on Facebook was dead soon after.(died in her sleep)..she was not totally healthy but still raises eyebrows IMO

No more independent journalists at press conferences...Laura Loomer banned (she was doing a good job of asking the right questions)

This security guard Jesus Campos has many more ????s than answers...missed 5 scheduled interviews now and is "missing".....Jesus Campos disappears right before he is to give 5 interviews, including Hannity. No one, including the FBI, knows where he is. So the FBI has lost the KEY witness to their investigation. Meanwhile, scary guys guarding his house 24 hours a day

Jesus Campos's is guarded by someone who works for a non-existent security company with no physical address and who's license to operate ran out last year.

Stephen Paddock's house gets robbed while the FBI is combing over it for evidence.... No further words needed here.

Jesus Campos drives a new Corvette with no license plate and whose registration points to 2006, on a security guard salary. Laura Loomer @LauraLoomer
