@Splinty SC MMA MD @SC MMA MD or anyone else in the know.
I’ve got a medical coming up for my life insurance application. I’m in decent shape (6ft 180lbs) but my cholesterol tested high a few couple years ago. I cleaned up my diet a bit and quit boozing since and it was good last I had it checked, but I’m a bit worried it might not be low enough to reduce my premiums.
Is it possible to go on a two week cholesterol crank and lower my number? Eat chicken and salad and drink tonne a of water?
Also my dad has high cholesterol and takes medicine for it. If I take his medicine for a couple of weeks do you think it might flag a test?
Thanks.

Here is a SFW picture of a couple of flies doing it doggy style on a flower for your troubles.

Let's ignore the complicated topic of dietary cholesterol versus systemic cholesterol versus Health outcomes. There's a lot there.

Let's focus on your main question. Can you hack your insurance exam? Probably. Will it be enough? Depends on your family genetics and Baseline cholesterol panel.

Your goal is to make the LDL lower the triglycerides lower, and the HDL higher.

Theoretical way to do this with no health benefit statements made and no guarantee it'll work:

Go straight vegetarian until then. Keeping sugar low. No processed food at all. None.

Exercise daily. Combination of 30 minutes cardio and 30 minutes resistance training.

Intermittent fasting may help.

You might try omega 3 fish oil, flax seed, or a supplement containing plant sterols. Red yeast rice will work, but might be risky depending on manufacturing process.

Glass of red wine a day.

I agree with what Splinty said.
I disagree with both of these false witch doctor and stand by my original advice.

Also see if you can get hold of an albino person's arm. I know how to make a great health and fertility potion with thier bones.

I would have rated informative, but the doctor's orders to include a glass of red wine daily during the crash diet earned a winner rating.
