Lol.
I cook 4/5 star meals and they go unappreciated.
Lol its ok. I know it lacks delicious protein but if you look carefully theres actually squid in the soup. I guess that doesnt make it sound anymore appetizing though. :)

Almost vegetarian is really prominent in old style korean cooking. There wasnt enough meat to go around. These days theres usually a grilled croaker to go along with the soup i just didnt make any.

Leaves of pepper plant. Its a really special green that is actually very expensive if you buy it at the supermarket. Now would be the time its only available once a year. Theres a revival in pepper leaves. People stopped kind if eating it because it was expensive and hard to find but they are returning to it because its supposed to be a super food that prevents free radicals. Its like a dark forest green in color so i inagine its like kale on steroids.

Im not married.

I dont cook stuff like this for other people. Its sort of a major old school type of meal that doesnt really interest younger koreans. Its something their parents or grandmother might dig though.

I am a pretty amazing gardener...one of my jobs is a pro landscape installer/designer
Got a whole bed of pepper plants right now still with nice green leaves...I am gonna look into this
I should probably start a gardening thread for this place...so we can all trade ideas and knowledge.

I don't know what kind of people you hang out with but lots of people I know love Korean food and would be very interested in a meal like that.

It's like the plain porridge of Korean cuisine. Kids groan when they find out that is for dinner. But adults be like that meal is like my favorite pair of pajamas.

I understand the comfortable meal. There's food I feel that way about but my son doesn't like at all.

I think my favorite Korean food is haemul jeongol. I get it at any Korean restaurant I go to. Weird think is I don't really like squid or octopus at all but I sure do love it in a spicy hot pot.

Had leftover kimchi, ribs and rotisserie chicken from the other day so I got lazy and made ramen again.

Corn, carrots, lettuce, green and red onion, garlic, ginger, pork rib meat, chicken, eggs and kimchi.

My presentations pretty shit but considering it was made from leftovers it tasted great.

Yes panchetta
I watch an Italian girl on youtube who makes fresh pasta with a Phillips pasta maker and she always puts that in her pasta. I've never actually had it myself but I want that pasta maker so bad. Its like $200 though and I'm not sure I would eat enough pasta to justify that price.

Garlic. NO
Parsley. Why? Are you plating this shit at a restaurant?!!!
Cream? Use more egg yolks and cheese
Bacon...I'll allow it (guanciale or panchetta is more traditional, but bacon is cheaper and tastes damn good so, again, I'll allow it)

*jesus Christ this guy is cooking his bacon in vegetable oil!! What a fanook

If I'm really splitting hairs he should be using pecorino Romano, but I probably blind taste test of grated cheese couldn't tell the difference, my palate ain't refined

It was the first video that popped up on YouTube, I didn't even watch it to be honest.

I've made bacon carbonara at home but not for a long time and I'd rather make it with penne. All I've used is Parm, pancetta (or side bacon), eggs and bit of olive oil. I don't mind a touch of garlic in there either.
