It’s still preseason, babe. Don’t get too worried. Although, I think you’re being a silly pants and probably have a long history of watching the sport. You know more than you’re leading on.Stinking Columbus beat Detroit last night. Ohio can kiss my balls.
I know it's the preseason, I am being silly about it on porpoise. It’s still preseason, babe. Don’t get too worried. Although, I think you’re being a silly pants and probably have a long history of watching the sport. You know more than you’re leading on.
Sorry to hear that. I’m sorry @TheFifthScallop was being such a dick about your condition.I know it's the preseason, I am being silly about it on porpoise.
I recall that experiment where they chipped the puck so it could be highlighted on teevee. Supposedly because Americans can't see it or something, so I've been watching for long.
I'm a big NYY fan too, but can't follow anymore: degenerative brain disorder. My epilepsy has turned my memory into a grab bag.
Trust when I say it's gonna be a struggle to make player names and team leaders stick, I have to keep notes and still can't discuss games with my friends without them.
He’s the best player in the league. By far. How's this Conor McDavid doing so far? Living up to the hype? What are you guys' expectations for him?
??
I was trying to comfort him!Sorry to hear that. I’m sorry @TheFifthScallop was being such a dick about your condition.
Is it just the speed, or does he see the play unfolding half a second ahead of everyone else on the ice? He’s the best player in the league. By far.
I’ve said it before but televised hockey doesn’t do the game justice. Watching the game live where you can follow individual players and see their whole game really let’s you see and understand players skills. I saw a game live in Detroit and watching Sergei Federov was amazing to watch. You could just tell he was seeing everything, and his skating was a level above. He always looked like he was about to break out and do something cool. He’s the best player in the league. By far.
It’s his vision too. He knows where the puck is going to be and has the speed to capitalize. Is it just the speed, or does he see the play unfolding half a second ahead of everyone else on the ice?

Cricket is the same, watching it on TV just doesn't convey how fucking fast the ball moves. Also, for the fanatics, you can sit in the stands, observe the field placings the fielding captain has decided to put his men in, and discuss the strategy that putting this guy on that particular spot rather than 5 yards to the left or right means. Geek shit for sure, but sports are better when you have a deeper level of understanding and are able to observe things firsthand. ?I’ve said it before but televised hockey doesn’t do the game justice. Yeah I love players who have that ability, to react to what is going to happen a second from now and start heading there to cut it off, rather than just constantly reacting to what has just happened and spending the whole game just mindlessly chasing the puck/ball.It’s his vision too. He knows where the puck is going to be and has the speed to capitalize.
My buddy is a firefighter an Wayne Gretzky’s dad came to one of their dinners and gave a speech. He told a cool story about how when Gretzky was a kid he used to watch hockey games with a pad of paper on his lap, and while watching the game he would just be tracing the paths of the puck on the pad.
Please don’t talk about cricket in this thread. That sport is for sissy’s.Cricket is the same, watching it on TV just doesn't convey how fucking fast the ball moves. Cricket seems like a cool sport. I have a British and one day on his birthday he had a game. It was fun as hell. There are a few cricket fields in my area due to the Indian population, I’ve always wanted to go and try it out.Cricket is the same, watching it on TV just doesn't convey how fucking fast the ball moves. Sir! This is not a place to talk about sissy sports!Cricket seems like a cool sport. I have a British and one day on his birthday he had a game. It was fun as hell. There are a few cricket fields in my area due to the Indian population, I’ve always wanted to go and try it out.
I've been KOed cold multiple times playing cricket, and broken multiple bones. True story. Please don’t talk about cricket in this thread. That sport is for sissy’s.
And some kids wear helmets while they’re going for a walk. What’s your point?I've been KOed cold multiple times playing cricket, and broken multiple bones. True story.

Cricket is a brilliant sport. So many layers to it, so much strategy, and there is no better sport for a close game going down to the wire.Cricket seems like a cool sport. The numbers he put up were so bonkers. I only got to watch him the the latter half of his career, but I was always amazed by him. I have a few childhood heroes from the nfl and he was in the number 3 spot.In a similar vein, I once did health care for an offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions. I asked him about Barry Sanders, he said what you saw on Sundays was only a shade of what he could do on the practice field, talked about his hands and vision and pure athleticism. Gave me the impression that elite athletes are more awesome than we generally know.
For fuck sake, stop shitting up the thread.Cricket is a brilliant sport. So many layers to it, so much strategy, and there is no better sport for a close game going down to the wire.

League fans were all about that chode in Dallas, but Sanders was the real deal. The numbers he put up were so bonkers. I only got to watch him the the latter half of his career, but I was always amazed by him. I have a few childhood heroes from the nfl and he was in the number 3 spot.
Shut up about footballers who retired a quarter of a century ago, this is the NHL thread for Christ's sakes. The numbers he put up were so bonkers.
