Cashman is being slick as hell with getting these teams to pay the rest of the salaries. He may be paying a bit more in talent but he's improving the roster and staying under the luxury cap.
Fucker is going to end up snagging a starting pitcher before it's said and done.
I don't know if it will be enough but damn... Only Aaron Boone can fuck it up.
For the record - I'm not a huge fan of Gallo. Not only is he dead, he's also a HUGE swing and miss guy. Tons of unproductive outs for a team that desperately needs left handed offense.
But Rizzo makes Gallo a little more palatable, imo.

Hal isn't like George. He's happy to spend but he has a budget that he wants to, and does a good job of, stick to.
Now... That being said... If he was certain that it would result in a world series win he'd say fuck it and add another $200mill in salary in a heartbeat. But if it's questionable he's much more restrained than his brother or dad.

The crazy thing is he's decided to try to start hitting for power. He's always been an amazing contact hitter, he's just trying to launch the ball more. It would have been interesting to see how many home runs he could have hit if he decided to sacrifice contact for power in his prime.
