I wanted to go to the go to the F1 race in vegas but they are price gouging for tickets and hotels at this point the minimum you would spend for F1 weekend is 10 grand.

For the long grand prix months earlier I only spend like 800 bucks for the 3 day event including booze, food and tickets.
I knew that would be a hot ticket, but $10k on a race weekend is crazy.

Well its 10k or maybe more with the hotels and plane tickets thats speaking from a Californians 50 min flight. At least heard some folks are paying 100k.

I have a buddy that does Enduro. He let me ride his bike the last time we were out camping. He has a KTM 450.
So much fun. Quite honestly, way too much bike for someone with my limited experience. Thing was stupid fast.

As suspected, during Thursday's duel Pastrana was just turning laps at the rear to get the feel of the car. It sounds like he had the car to move up if he wanted.

Something to watch this afternoon - he won't be backing off in the 500. And if you've watched any of Pastrana's videos, the dude won't think twice about going for it - even if he is doing 200 mph.

He finished 13th last night in the Truck Series. Dude can drive.

Showing the classic cars of Daytona 500 falls a little short with stupid ass animation.

It's time like those I'm reminded I enjoy a sport that's largely followed by mouth-breathing idiots who probably still like pro wrestling.

WTF? Like 12 grand marshalls for the race, and like 3 of them are IN the race.

I guess Harvick, Johnson and Logano get to save a little gas because they didn't start their engines at the same time as everyone else.

We gonna introduce 18 flag waivers too? Fucking get on with it.

Even the casinos are scalping tickets in vegas.

"MGM CEO Bill Hornbuckle has said that the company will purchase between $20 million and $25 million in F1 tickets to offer in packages"

We lost a good one the other day. Australian racing legend Ken Warby died. Fastest man on water.

He set the water speed record in 1978 at 317.6 mph in his Spirit of Australia hydroplane. It still stands today.

Many have died trying to beat that mark.

I've met him several times. Great dude. He was 83.

NASCAR is at Fontana this weekend. Green flag drops at 3:47 EST.
200 laps around the 2 mile oval.

Practice and qualifying were both washed out, so the starting grid was determined by some bullshit formula of driver points, owner points, previous race position and fastest lap time.

Christopher Bell is on the pole.

I usually grab 3 or so drivers and drop $5 on them to win each week.
This week I'm going with:
  • +1000 Kyle Busch
  • +1200 Joey Logano
  • +5000 Brad Keselowski
  • +1400 Martin Truex
All these odds are Draft Kings. All books are pretty close but Keselowski is definitely the biggest spread I could find (He's +3500 on Fan Duel)

They got a 1 million dollar ticket package for the vegas F1 race lol thats ridiculous

That's insane. This is a bit sad but the second to last race I went to was the inaugural for the American V8 Supercar Series at Laguna Seca. Took my son & father in law. Camped in the old RV for the weekend at the campground. Don't think we spent $500-600 the entire weekend.

Last race was at Infinion. Just like the weekend at LS, there were several series racing but I don't recall what the main attraction was that weekend. Took my son to that one. Probably $100-150 for each day total.

I watched Chilly Willy kill himself trying to back up his World Record at Puddingstone lake.Poor guy actually went flying through the finish line.Landed on the water neck first & his boat landed on top of him & he didn't survive.

He was a flat-bottom guy right? 1/4 mile drag?
Doesn't take much to get them going wonky at 160 mph.

Always rough to see. I've been around boat racing my entire life. Saw plenty of fatal crashes. And some I thought for sure were fatal but they lived.
