Does show the problem of this 51st state business, if anyone's honestly taking it seriously. Glancing at the election results in the various provinces as an outsider doesn't begin to give you an idea of what you're getting. The two political systems do not really map. Only thing I know for sure is that no ones wants the Quebecois.

I'm hoping this Trumpian tactic prompts an equivalent Canada First movement, and doesn't cause a doubling down on the stupid out of spite.

quebec and the indians would be an absolute nightmare . absorbing canada at all ensures the GOP never wins another presidency . right now the Canada First movement has been hijacked by the trudeau liberals in a false sense of fake nationalism against Trump .they are literally the same people who have hated the flag since the convoy and spent the last 9 years calling canada a post national state but now they are draping themselves in the maple leaf. the conservatives are split between people who are begging to become the 51st state and others who think Pierre Polievre is going to save us . other than resources i dont see how the USA benefits from this
