The tv show fallout has some of these themes predictive programming. You also have movies like mickey 17 talking about cloning and other dystopian themes.
It's a one and done thing. No-one needs their DNA tested twice.
The big money is in subscription services, every business is trying to get people onto them. The auto industry is trying to normalise paying monthly for stuff that's already on the car, and shutting it off remotely if you stop paying, as one example.
My brother submitted a test and found out we have a lot of Scottish in us, he turned into a leprechaun wearing kilts, competed in the Maine highland games and went back to the motherland for a 2 week vacation.
