The tv show fallout has some of these themes predictive programming. You also have movies like mickey 17 talking about cloning and other dystopian themes.

It's a one and done thing. No-one needs their DNA tested twice.

The big money is in subscription services, every business is trying to get people onto them. The auto industry is trying to normalise paying monthly for stuff that's already on the car, and shutting it off remotely if you stop paying, as one example.

My brother submitted a test and found out we have a lot of Scottish in us, he turned into a leprechaun wearing kilts, competed in the Maine highland games and went back to the motherland for a 2 week vacation. My Dad asked me what the fuck was wrong with my brother, I told him it is your son, don't blame me.

China has been using an AI-enhanced mass surveillance software to enforce their social credit score system called "Skynet" for years.

Same. The whole thing of people being super proud of their color / race / ethnicity / background / heritage / etc is weird to me.

You should take pride in things you do, accomplish, work for, etc - not where & how you were born.

Do you have any interest in your family tree ? I think it's pretty natural for most to be curious. I haven't used this or other similar companies mostly for the reasons already mentioned, but my brother went deep on our family tree and it was pretty damn cool and interesting.

Hospital visits, child birth, school nurses, vaccines, military basic training, giving blood the list is long and the data gathering effort has been happening for a long long time
Same with your digital footprint have you seen the size of google or federal nsa/ncar/ data storage facilities? Your phone/laptop/microcwave/fridge/tv/car/dishwasher/earbuds……. Everything tracks you/us absolutely nothing anyone can do to change it

Those covid swabs were probably some sort of dna gathering operation too. They almost had folks doing anal swabs.
