She was a bartender out of college and before running for congress.
What her occupation was, isn't relevant. Remembering that elected officials are supposed to represent the public's interest I'd rather a bartender than a lawyer. That being said, just because you don't have a high profile job doesn't preclude you from educating yourself on other matters.
