I'm noticing you didn't strip this down. Are you just going to dry it like that? I'm assuming this will be a concentrate plant, not one you will be smoking the buds of.
honestly i dont really care about this strain too much.im going to let it hang a few days and then debone it.ill take off the major leaf then and probably let it screen dry for a while before sweating it.ill try it out and if its good ill smoke it or mix it with other weed and vape. it will probably just live in my freezer with the other outdoor i have. i still have 2 other plants growing that are fairly small but look better quality. ill probably smoke those ones and care more about the trim

I hear you. Anything I care about gets a wet trim.

how is the flowering going? Like how is the size?

one of mine is plump and two are rather small still, serves me right for random strain growing this year

still think the smoky air turned my plants into bitches somehow
I got one odd one flowering that im going to let go as long as i can.it probably will be full of seeds and i got another small guy who is budding nicely and im going to harvest in about 2 or 3 weeks.it is looking like it will be the best quality but is only 2 ft tall

Did you mean to quote me? If so, everything is looking fine. My tahoes are in flush and everything else potted has at least another month to go I'm guessing. Had a hilarious misstep when I ran out of captain jack's and substituted a really old bottle of sevin in its place. It was half dried up and caked on the inside of the bottle, so whatever wasnt dry was extremely concentrated. Dumb mistake, but plants recovered fine, just look funny with white residue on the water leaves. Fortunately I was smart enough to not spray the tahoe, knowing that it was coming down much sooner than everything else, so why risk it? I'm so lazy with the outdoor plants sometimes that I have a "fuck it" attitude.

that smoke didnt do anyone any favors either. august sun is pretty important .the entire last half of my flowering period was all smoke.i let them go an extra week or so just because the sun finally came out

Caterpillars are my biggest problem, so if I'm not religious with spraying, they fuck shit up pretty well. I'm pretty good with everything else. I knew sevin would get me by for a week after spraying it, so late one drunken night I just did it. The next morning I was less than pleased. Even now when o look at the fan leaves I just shake my head. Lol

It's any moth or butterfly. They'll fuck ya. Down here it is a constant battle. The fucked part is, spraying doesn't 100% solve your problem, no matter what. There will always be eggs laid close enough to the bud (often times right on the bud) where the little fucker crawls right into the bud before eating and shitting. Once inside it has no reason to emerge. The spray doesn't kill them. They have to eat a part of the plant that has been sprayed, so inside the buds they are safe from everything.

they get into the buds

some years I check inside every bud as I trim to find them and it fucks up tons of crystals

they shit in there and it can make mold grow

fuck them pillars

doused the plant with diatomaceous earth right before flowering this year....if I have reduced pillars it may say something for that method

LOL why?
it kills the shit out of any garden pests
If you powdered the plants weekly, maybe it would do something. The DE isn't sticking to the plants throughout flowering, and especially won't be under the leaves where most eggs are laid. There is also nothing on the buds. Bacillus thuringiensis (aka BT) and captain jack's are the only true methods I'm aware of that actually work that won't poison you. BT is bullshit aND needs to be sprayed almost daily to be effective (sunlight breaks it down). Captain jack's needs to be applied every 7-10 days. Down here moths are everywhere at night and somehow they spread the word where weed grows because it's an all out assault. I've tried just about everything and captain jack's is all I will mess with (BT is pretty cool though because it makes caterpillars basically explode).

good info

it is all over every leaf and stalk I spread it on but certainly won't be in the growing bud as you say

here is it so cold at night the moths are kind of done for the year...but my strains are likely not cold weather strains

regardless I am about to get misty mornings in 2-3 weeks so I have a whole new set of problems coming on(powdery mildew and rot)

Used BT before but not sure if it fucks with taste of bud

As I said I roll a kind of low cost, low maintenance grow so I really don't give a shit

I can get an ounce of indoor from a high end grow for like 60 bucks tops so I just can't justify spending money or time on these ladies this year

I think your nights are so much warmer it is a different deal, not sure though

I need to grow cold weather loving plants next year....Alaskan thunderfuck maybe?

Some areas don't get the caterpillar issues like socal. For example, if Humboldt county did, it never would have been "the spot" in the 80's and 90's for outdoor. If I did zero treatment here, I would have a destroyed and molded plant by halfway through flowering. Moderate treatments might leave me with 25%.

In reference to DE, I just don't see a single treatment as something that would stay on the plant as it grows 3x bigger throughout stretch, plus is dealing with variables like wind, rain, and dew. A wetting agent placed on the plant prior to application might make it stick better, but imo it also takes away the sharp edges (if you apply it to the soil for ground insects, as soon as you water it it loses quite a bit of its effectiveness, then water again and again and it does nothing). Hopefully you see a difference, but if it were effective nobody would bother with spraying (which is a total amd complete pain in the ass).

yep, I hear ya and agree
haven't had rain for 3+ months so it is still on the leaves and stalks
it is likely long gone from the topsoil

All I know is I used a freaking shitload of it, I looked like a grey ghost after applying/spreading it(I have had a Huge bag of it for the chicken coop for years so I decided to use a little bit of it on whole yard and I haven't seen an indoor ant in months and all other pest in garden are gone)

it is bush-league, amateur hour, and nothing to rely on for sure....But I am trying it out this season

the pillars do seem to have up and down years here...last year I checked every bud and only found pillars in like 10%...year before they were in like 60%

thank you for input and knowledge...greatly appreciated

No prob. Not trying to be a know I all with my advice, it's just that I've dealt with this extreme problem every year. It's so bad that I gave up outdoor completely multiple times. Now that I found the captain jack's product, it makes outdoor actually worth it. If you picked up a bottle at this point, plus a pump sprayer, you may end up grinning ear to ear at harvest.
