ya i was more trying to get an idea for the age of the plants before taking clones and you're right at 10-11 weeks which is what they told me is the perfect time, they also told me i don't want to keep the mom too long either but would i still be able to flower the mom once i'm done taking clones from it after 4 or 5 cycles?
for the clones i can lower the 2 t5s they will be lit by, so i'll keep the tip in mind. Debating doing 24hr on for cloning week in cloning chamber
You can keep the mom's as long as you want. And yes, you can flower them whenever you want and they will be yield monsters, but with your height restrictions it will be a disaster unless you are constantly pruning to limit overall height on them.
Clone more than you need because clones don't always take (more so when temps are cool), and some will be more vigorous than others. Select the strongest and toss the rest, or give them away. Until rooted I kept my clones under 24 hours of light.

oh ya, i'm going to be pruning the moms, I will be growing them out to about 24" inches and bushy hopefully and then eventually i'll have to do some sort of training with it when i do flower it
thanks again for all the tips, the guy at the shop said you guys have 1 more night to think of suggestions lol

Papi Chingon @Papi Chingon do you think he even needs a veg tent? Man I would prob do clones in a closet and use both tents to flower lol. His height restrictions wont allow to veg for long anyways. He could veg in the flower room for a week or auto flower using SCROG in a small hydro setup. You could fit more in that way. Just thinking a veg tent really isn't necessary. It's nice to keep moms though. But if your just starting to grow indoors keeping up on mom's/veg tent and the flower tent is a lot. 2 flower tents. Sorry lol. Had a few dabs and over thinking this.

I don't think he needs tents at all, but that is the setup he chose to isolate odor and light.

It's all good
Only reason I'm not going all out yet is my limit
Once my dad is registered (hopefully within 4-6 months) I can add another 15 plants
That' when I'm going to make the push for a full flower room

This height issue is really making me realize how fucked up the 4 foot law they want to implement for rec growers is
In july when people are allowed to grow for rec, they are planning to have a law saying your plants can't be over 4 feet high

How many are you planning to do?
I forgot your complying with the law. Can you go medical and get a different rule set? You have 5 feet of grow room. I wouldn't think you can fit 4 foot tall plants with a 5 foot overhead. I would keep them shorter and open them up a whole lot, using SCROG or bending and tying down branches.

This is medical
Rec is 4 plants total including clones lol
Medical gets 5 plants per gram/day prescribed
I have the max now at 5g a day so 25 plants total
I want to keep it to 20 though so I can have some plants to experiment on and have a couple extra clones
My dad is at 3g/day so that will add 15 more since I'm going to be his designated grower once they approve him

I've been reading about the sea of grass technique using the netting and I'm going to try that with pinching some tops the 1st grow
See where we go from there after
1 thing I'm confused on, they are using more than 1 net right?
Some look like they just raise the netting up slowly and others look to use multiple nets and go in layers

Gotcha. Thats not a bad number. Sometimes you dont have enough net and need to overlap. Or it could be side netting. I always topped mine. I think if i were doing a tent these days I would probably top them multiple times and stretch the branches horizontally and the use the Sea Of Green method. That will allow you to keep them shorter. You'll figure out what works best for you and your setup. Rome was built in a day. Keep notes. It's amazing what you learn a long the way. These are all just ideas that could be done.

What size pots?

Ya forsure, think I'm going to be taking video but will also be keeping a note and log book

For final flower pot it depends on how many I'm flowering I think
1st grow is only going to have 8 plants or 10 go into flower so I'm going to go with 5s when I'm doing 16 which will be my regular number, I'll be doing them in 3s I think

Edit: actually doing 12 for the 1st couple grows with 2 moms will put me right at 20 so that works perfect
So I might just go 3s from the start

Looking at the sea of green tech I can probably veg for 35 days and from videos I'm watching it looks like I should be starting with 8 plants at the most

Ya?

It's pretty hard to speculate. I'm wondering the same thing.
All part of the fun lol :)

I'm going to start with 8 that will go into flower, 2 plants from 4 strains

So 12 total to start in veg and ill have my 2 moms im keeping around and grow a plant each of the other 2 strains for 10 weeks so I can take clones from them and then grow them out

In traditional sog you take as many clones as fit into your designated area, don't top, and don't veg very long. You are after the cola only. Since you are concerned with plant count, if you wanted to maximize yield per plant, you would likely be going with scrog, or screen of green. With this method and one light, it doesn't make too much sense though. Your better bet would be pinching tops, fimming, and lst, of you are looking to have 8 plants per harvest. 1 light would really have 8 packed in pretty tight, but you are staggering your grow, so that throws me off since I wouldn't really know how to work that. What I can say is you will need an elevated space for the new plants so the aren't stretching toward the light. You could use upside down home Depot buckets, but eventually that will lead to a plant or two getting knocked over.

About elevation ya I've thought of this and I'm going to get a hydrolic lift I can put on 1 side of the tents for raising and lowerng
Canopy always has to be even I've been reading
Im going to have 1 in veg tent too so they can be elevated to height of the mom's or is it not as important in the veg tent?

I'm still going back and forth on which tech I'm going to use
I really think training by bending branches down during veg will help and then a bit of topping as well but I'm sure I'll be posting here daily with updates and questions

I did cancel the ph tester (found one of banggood for 1/5th of the cost), same with the digital microscope for check trichomes

I've been doing research on the strains i was interested in Espcially directly from paradise seeds website to see how they grow and I've picked all short to medium sized plants
Here's the plan
Order
3 Sensi star (1 mom 2 flower)
3 durga mata Mata 2 cbd (1 mom 2 flower)
3 ice cream (1 10week veg, 2 flower)
2 delahaze (1 10week veg, 1 flower)
2 wappa (1 10week veg, 1 flower)

I can knock it down to 6 going into flower by taking 1 cbd and 1 ice cream away

One tent is still not in, hopefully coming later today, but I'm picking everything except that up tonight

Edit: and I was mistaken, it is screen of green I'm considering, with the chicken wire or netting)

So the tent was in but the magnum was late so I'm going back to pick it up on Friday and going to get my soil then too

So much stuff lol

He threw in a pack of zip ties, some flexible garden wire, netting to do scrog if I want (he actually said I should be ok going without scrog but threw it in incase i want to try) and a small pair of clippers for cuttings ontop of the nutrients and stuff he was already throwing in

The ballest has 7 or 8 settings with 600 being the lowest, I was wrong about it going down to 450
Ballast has a full 3 year warranty

Total came to $2698 cdn
Roughly $2100 us

In veg you will want to limit stretch just like in flowering. You can veg under the t5 you are using for cloning until they outgrow that space.

For cloning use a razor blade, not clippers. You want a sharp and clean cut. Before using the blade clean it thoroughly with iso alcohol, then wipe it again with iso between each cut as well. I like to scrape one side of each cutting (the skin) with the razor blade before dipping it in cloning gel to get more surface area for roots to develop. Scrape, removing the skin on one side (only what will go into your plugs) about a half inch up/down from the actual cut. I then cut the larger fan leaves in half so the cuttings use more energy on new growth.

I was thinking of putting them in the t5 led area for a week after coming from cloning so that the cfl isn't too much of a shock

Ya a scalpel was what I was thinking until he brought in the tiny clippers but I agree, you' want as clean a cut as possible
Going to grab a scalpel as well

They sell good (stainless)surgical scalpels on ebay with 100 blades for $10 delivered. Honestly though, the razor blade is all you need. Far easier to find replacements, way cheaper, and this isn't like precision open heart surgery. The clippers will come in handy for pruning moms and trimming bottom branches during week 3 of flowering though.
