I like the insight in the article, but it would mean a lot more if it were evidence-based. It's more of an editorial that only focuses on one part of a more complicated issue.

Imo, we have posters that have insights that are just as good or more valuable. If you don't need evidence to put out an article these days, @Splinty and Wild @Wild could make money off a TMMAC Newsletter. It could have a section for highlights from each forum (Geek Haven would probably be quarterly though), plus a gossip column for interpersonal relations.

Good point, & very true: some of the posters here are very insightful, & more evidence would've made the article better/less anecdotal.

Sweeping generalization and cherry picking the fruitiest personalities in the sport to back the claim. I'm a big mma fan and don't believe flat earth or sandy hook conspiracy, so... where do we go from here?

It's like saying radical terrorists speak for all muslims and as far as I know, libs aren't particularly fond of that.

How is this one?

Maybe because there are a shit ton of actual conspiracies going on at any given moment and they speak about them.

And...Head trauma leaves you with less of a Politically correct filter...I have firsthand experience with this aspect lol

Because all those are predominantly white crazies and MMA has a lot of 'em?

Also, does not address the idea that if your boss is a Trump supporter, you may be less likely to voice your own opinion, or that three of the people named are making money off their crazy talk on podcasts and so are highlighted, etc. Lots of issues here without addressing any examples to the contrary that I'm sure we can all come up with.

I've thought about this a lot over the years and I've come to two conclusions:

1) Many white American fighters hail from the geographic regions that have historically been conservative districts, particularly regions with strong wrestling programs.

2) The personality type likely to be attracted to what was once an outlaw sport in most of the nation that had to fight state pressure just to be able to survive is more likely to be distrustful of government and paternalism.

In other words, rednecks

because you have to be somewhat off in the head to choose a career where you get punched in the head for a living?
