I asked Dave Meltzer that & he had two reasons he was told:

1. Viacom is not interested in messing with their schedule to change it for sports.
2. They think it would do lower over-all ratings by airing it 6pm West Coast

And Meltzer was told by the same people that told everyone else months ago.
Bellator reps; and Scott Coker himself addressed the topic when they announced Bellator 200 and those respective airtimes were questioned.

Good stuff
That is what i thought
His fight drew about what it should of, but nobody watched the undercard
830,000 doesn’t seem like to bad of a number. It really didn’t have any other well recognizable names to a casual fan.

How do they count dvr?

Also, they tape delay to the west coast? This is the year 2018......you gotta be fucking kidding me
I know it’s a bunch of bullshit with that tape delay. I live in Washington and even when they have the events in San Jose there is still a three hour delay.

bellator should try to do live on westcoast for a tent pole event or two and see how it goes.

LOL, are we MMA fans or are we something else. This threads really show who is about what. I could give a fuck if I was the only person on TV watching Fedor vs Mir, or if billions where watching. Also, once the ancillary numbers come in, op will likely be off. Nothing but another attempt by the Conor huggers to bash Fedor, not sure how this is unclear to any person on the forum, easy call.

I think some people care because they are concerned it will be taken off the air and that Bellator could lose the financial leeway they've been given by the owners.

Although this is true, it's often precluded by subtle passive/aggressive digs, rather than what would be more beneficial and promising;
positive reinforcement. It's a propagated campaign subconsciously-oriented.

Not just that, but in the information age, people follow these things.
TV viewers follow ratings
Movie goers follow box-office
Etc

This is from an interview I did last Oct

MMAToday: Thank you for taking the time to provide us with all these informative answers. How important do you think it is for an MMA fan to follow business metrics?

FNYC: You are welcome. If a fan only wants to watch a UFC fight, then it is not important. If a fan wants to discuss why a fight was made and why is it on TV or PPV, etc., I think knowledge of the business reason behind it is imperative to the discussion. Combat sports are unique in the sense that they are truly “prize fighting”. So understanding why certain prizes are offered at certain times to certain fighters on certain platforms is key to understanding why decisions are made. But if you don’t participate in those discussions, just enjoy the sport.
