Eggs are $5 for 18 here, so we haven't stopped buying them, but those same 18 eggs were $2.50 when orange man bad was in office. Basically, everything has nearly doubled since Trump was in office, when you think about it.
Gas was $1.89. It's $3.39 today here.
Our homeowners & auto insurance has increased 50+%.
A McDouble was $1.49. It's $2.99 today.
A large drink at McDonalds was 99 cents. It's $1.99 today.
And forget about eating out. Getting to do that is a special treat. My wife and I had Outback the other night. An appetizer, 10 oz steak entree, 12 oz steak entree, and two sweet teas was $75 without tip.
And the list goes on. If a family was spending $1500/mo on gas, insurance, and groceries in 2019-2020, they're paying close to $3000 today.
Have you told her the legend of passive Jay?toilet paper for Christmas
In my early days on my own I stole rolls and rolls from the supply closet at work. A light bulb or 3 as well.
Maybe some trash bags. And other cleaning supplies....
I'm not ashamed of this, lol.
