this isn't as one sided yet, but this reminds me of Oscar vs manny. the bigger guy needs to throw more than he is, but every time he does he gets whacked. seems hopeless

So far, no distance advantage at all, and no clinching use of the size.

Could be problem is they have opposite match-up/style ideally. Chavez is fighting like the shorter/compact guy, waiting for Canelo to come to him. Could not be more wrong game-planning-wise, but maybe they are counting on the later rounds being decisive. Just not a good strategy for this match-up.

Flipside, it's not like you can just change your whole style for 1 fight, just not enough time to do it.

I never followed Jr. in the past, so I have no idea what he used to fight like, how they matched him over time.

Just kinda retarded toolbox and execution for this fight, thus far.

I agree, but I doubt this was the gameplan. Canelo is countering everthying, he's countering over chavez' jab like he's in there with an amateur. tough to crank it up to 100 punches per round if every time you throw you get your neck snapped back or a hard shot to the body
