Awesome. David Gilmour gets his share of credit, but not enough in my opinion.
There's a lot of thought and feel that go into his solos, whereas a lot of guitarists are simply running through flashy scales. Nobody could hold, bend or get as much out of one note as Gilmour.

I also like slide guitar. Although I do suck at using a slide. Haven’t ever put in the time with a slide to become proficient, which I should have done at this point in my playing. I have been playing around in open tunings lately though, which would be perfect for a slide.
Not sure any one cares, but I just learned Kerry King from slayer played guitar on Beastie Boys 'No sleep till Brooklyn' and 'fight for your right to party.'

That's f'n awesome.
Some wild stuff....and some really good moments in there though. I love that ragged out axe he’s playing
Nels is really a tasteful player....there's this, his shit with the Geraldine Fibbers, his Avant/Jazz stuff on Cryptogramophone as well as his Wilco stuff. He's one of those guitarist who I really think can pull off any style. He's got a few beat up Jazzmasters and they all sound superb
I want to like maggot brain but it's just so bloody long. Would've been more enjoyable broken down into 3 separate tracks. Don't get me wrong there some great licks there, It's just not cohesive, it's all over the place.
Not many guys roll with the jazz master, it's like the neglected step child of the Fender family!
Anybody familiar with John Squire? He's never been mentioned in any top players lists, but he's a phenomenal player.
