I didn't really follow so I've tried to follow up and you say you support a prevailing culture and the prevailing culture in Canada seems to be hockey and consumerism. But you don't support THAT prevailing culture.

No, I don't have an example of a place with a single culture, which is why I found your comments strange. I find anyone who opposes multiculturalism strange, because every country already has numerous cultures. I can understand opposing particular cultures (ghetto gang culture, Shari'a based cultures etc) but just opposing multiculturalism because some people have different ideas seems strange.

For me, it's all about the type of cultures that are merging. There doesn't need to be just the one culture, but they do need to gel and be able to interact with each other to further benifit the community.
English, American, Canadian, Australian are good examples of cultures that merge well.
But your asking for trouble trying to merge two very different and contrasting cultures.
Such a simple thing like a culture who likes to be asleep at dawn, being influxed by a culture who blast prayer music out of their mosques at the crack of dawn is only going to cause disharmony to the community.
Same with a pork loving culture merging with a pork fearing culture, a culture where the woman like to reveal skin merging with cultures that demand woman cover up, A loud drunken culture merging with a culture that forbids alcohol. All that's going to do is degrade the community and cause conflict and disharmony.

Multiculturalism in my experience was and has been guided by people trying to force/create societal norms by making them public policy, (ironically the very thing you later claimed is not possible). What I mean by that is, when it becomes legally questionable/risky to state your opinions due to fear then you're going to get a warped culture (and I'm not talking about extreme crazy shit either so don't go there). I blame stupid people with fanciful ideas. Capiche?

If you had grown up in Canada, or at least western Canada, you'd be able to see that there is very much a cultural vacuum that has developed among 4th, 5th, 6th, generation Canadians, can you name some experiences that most Canadians share that aren't directly related to: hockey, the cold, and shopping?

I think it's hypocritical of you to accuse me of not supporting or not approving of a culture when you admit you aren't even able to define what you mean by that. I mean, you want me to be specific and on point but give yourself a free pass?
