At the end of the day, Chuck is a grown man. Let the fighter make the choice. He knows the risks and if the market doesn't want it, the ratings will show it.

Spoiler: Ratings will be through the roof.
Can't help to think this is a bit exploitative. The one thing I think UFC done right, let these guys go when they are clearly affected by the hits to the head over the years. Bellator ignores this all together. But, they're all adults, I know.

Serious question: has he been training at all, or just being retired on the Reebok UFC executive money? The only fight that would make sense is Jacob Ortiz Sr., and even that is just stupid at this point. The only good thing that can happen is Chuck getting a paycheck.

"he's a grown man, let him fight if he wants" is not a sensible approach. Fighters will fight to the death if you let them. in a perfect world promoters wouldn't stoop down to it, comissions wouldn't allow it and fight fans wouldn't want to witness the slow death of a man.

Also I'm sure the suits behind the scenes have it all figured out but I always suspect that drawing casuals for a one night two million rating at the expense of alienating hardcore fans that would watch you every single time is not worth.

Good. That's what I want to watch, not silly point fighting or weak ass stoppages if someone eats a stiff jab.

My man, this is horrible news. Chuck had slurring speech already 12 years ago, it's gotten worse too, he is old school so he probably been ko'd in training way back, then you add in all his ko's, this is bad. Where are the people around him looking out for him, he's already having issues and with some more ko's he might literally end up having horrible issues, he's got a family and I don't want to see him in a few years looking at his daugher and not knowing her name.

this is really bad
I get all that, I do. But he's signed and it's official so the time for hand holding is over. You and I don't want to see a rookie get a life altering injury no more than a vet yet we both watch dudes fight every chance we get. I'd never be in Chucks ear suggesting he do this to begin with but now he is so I'm gonna tune in and enjoy the show.

You seriously didn't realize I meant "fight to the death" as in they're accumulating damage over time, not "fight to the death" in a given fight?

Oh Trust me, I am not saying I would not watch, that would be a lie. I just wish these guys had people in their family that would stop them from doing this.

BigNog should have retired like 3 years before he finally did, all that happened to him in his last years fighting was him getting ko'd again and again

Wandy, same deal, fuck he looked incredibly horrible against Chael and training with Chute Box Lord knows how many ko's

To me I dont look at age, but really the ko's. Fedor is 40 or 41, I don't think he should retire because he has only been stopped by strikes like twice and he has not taken that same kind of brain trauma.

Arlovski, another gy that been ko'd way too much

Trust me, Im watching I just wish these guys would ride off into the sunset, happy ending

They have made money and can still make money coaching, guest appearances, they all have lovely families

But again, I will watch as you will

With the amount of damage he's accrued over the years his decision making probably isn't the best and is probably causing him to take risks. The last thing I'd want to see is one of my all time favorite fighters go out the way several football players and old wwe guys have.

I want Bellator to succeed, but these moves just put off a "Kobe Bryant making a temporary comeback in the Chinese league" vibe...

Don't wanna see Chuck fight anymore. He is shot and punch drunk. This is sad news.

I think you give the UFC too much credit, the only person they did this to was Chuck.

Big Nog, Little Nog, BJ, Gomi, Uno, Sheittt they gave Mark Coleman a fight at one point.

I wouldn’t be upset if Chuck never fights again. But like all of us, I’ll sure watch him if he steps back in. He had a hell of a career until his chin disappeared. Maybe fighting old men in Bellator won’t cause any additional damage. I assume he hasn’t been taking any shots since his last fight. Maybe some time off some his chin good, if it works like that. Add to that, Bellator doesn’t have USADA so Chuck can get on a good supplement regimen. Lastly, he’s gonna fight other old guys with demonized skills. He’s not going to take severe beatings from hungry young monsters. Maybe it will all work out, he will have some fun, make some money, and entertain us and somehow manage to escape further brain damage

Chuck needs help not a fight. He would be better off doing sub grappling he’s punchy already. I don’t want to see him get hurt anymore. Bellator have gone down in my estimation doing this. Chuck will fight till he dies if given the chance that’s who he is,

I think Dana himself said that Nog should retire. But even if not, I wonder why Bellator gets all the free passes. They're exploitative of the older fighters that have a wish to still fight, those fighters will always want to fight until they die.
